Great foam tiles! Works perfectly and colors/texture/feel better than expected.
I'm using these tiles to create a cushion barrier for the floor of my music room to reduce sound transfer, but they'd be perfect for a home gym, a dojo, a kid's play room, or any type of space where you might want to walk barefoot or crawl around. I can't comment on the sound reduction qualities right yet, but being that they separate the drums from the floor is already making a big difference. These are a little pricier than some of the other thinner foam tiles, but they are vastly better, and well worth the investment. The 1in thick tiles generally hold their shape (not floppy) which makes them really easy to work with. I've taken some of the extra tiles and put together a large mat to do yoga on and stretch and exercise on as well, it's perfect. These tiles are so good for a number of uses, I'm tempted to get even more. How it arrives:- It arrives neatly packed in a box, without too much unnecessary packaging. Each tile comes with two straight edge-pieces attached; there is also little corner 'rounds' that make nice corners and can be removed to make larger segments or left on to make a nice rounded corner- each tile is roughly an inch thick, and made up of a 1/2in grey foam and 1/2 black foam tiles glued together.- each tile has a even-random pebbled texture.Criticisms:- some of the tiles had a bit of a oily discoloration on them, as if a handling machine or an attendants dirty gloves got to them, but with a little soapy water and some scrubbing, these came right off- the tiles thicknesses are not extremely consistent, it's maybe only a 1/16th of an inch or 2-3mm variance, and it's truly not a big deal, but if you are looking for a truly seamless look, sorry, you will see the seams just a little bit once it's assembled; with this said, it's minimal.- the little quarter-round pieces that complete the soft corners are almost fully, but not quite cut. This allows them to be pulled out to assemble more tiles, but if you want to keep them for your corner, they are susceptible to falling off because they are held by just a little piece. This is a tiny detail and only affects the 1in x 1in corner - most people won't care, but I would prefer it be a little more secured so that I, the user, could cut the corner if I want or leave it, and it would be secure.- The foam is not incredibly durable; I assume in order to get softness and comfort, one needs to sacrifice durability. If you step on the tile with high-heels you will likely puncture the tiles and the puncture will be visible. If you place heavy items on the tiles with small points or feet, they will leave imprints and if they have sharp edges, they may leave permanent imprints. I'm using this for a music room, so under any heavy equipment and some chairs, I'm using those little furniture moving discs to spread out the weight a bit, these don't leave any imprints and help protect the tiles long-term. This is the nature of the product, it's not meant to endure punctures or scrapes; but used correctly, it should last quite a long time remain in good condition.Pros:- The 1in thick tiles are WAY nicer than the 1/2in thick tiles of the same material. The cushion and feel is really great for walking on, and stretching and rolling around on the ground on. It still wouldn't feel great to take a hard fall on it, but it certainly would feel a ton better than the hard floor!- The texture on the tile is quite nice, it helps to blend any slight variance in the dye-lot colors; and with bare feet I find it just grippy enough to be stable running around, but also not too sticky or scuffy. If you are wearing socks it is somewhat slippery though.- The color is super nice. I got the Black and Grey tiles and the black is a nice charcoal black, and the grey is warmer and earthier than I anticipated which works really well in my room. it's just a nice medium grey that goes with most other colors.- Being that the tiles are an inch thick, they interlock perfectly and are really stable; much more stable than the 1/2in thick tiles you normally see.- The surface of the tiles is very easy to clean. I wouldn't use a wet mop, but I'm pretty sure you could safely use a slightly damp mop on it and it would work really well. It appears to be waterproof (outside of moisture working it's way into the seams of course) which is great for an spills or sweat, etc.- Tiles are easy to cut. I cut out a rectangle to allow for a floor register vent; with a sharp knife and straightedge and a few careful passes, I was able to remove the piece without a problem. Straight cuts are very easy. Measure twice, use multiple light passes with a sharp blade and you'll get factory-like cuts.Hopefully this review helps to clarify any user questions that may not be discussed in the description,Best,

Perfect mats
Exactly what I was looking for. We spent 6 months attempting to do virtual Kung Fu classes in our living room with limited space. Our training was suffering. We moved outside to have more space as well as be able to train with weapons. We started on the concrete which was extremely hard on my joints as an adult even with good street shoes. Let's not even talk about attempting sit-ups and knuckle pushups on gritty concrete. So I researched and settled on these decently priced mats. They have been amazing. My joints no longer hurt and my tailbone thanks me during sit ups. They are firm enough though that it doesn't affect our form. Very similar to the mats we train on at our school when we could to in person. Super easy to clean as I just take a spray mop to them. They have been outside so far. No rain but I did hose them off once. So far so good. They were a bit slippery at first and they do turn our bare feet black as we rotate and rub our feet around, but the slipperiness is fading and the black washes off easily. Doesn't seem to come off on clothes as far as I can tell. I did have to get some sandbag like things to hold down in the crazy winds we get, but they are still getting use and I love them. I am sure the more expensive ones are better, but i didn't want to spend that much for a year and to have them outside.

Home Dojo
Great mats. Look and feel wonderful. Shipment was prompt and packaged/protected well. Easy to connect, disconnect and connect again. Great price. I bought 25 mats for less than the cost of 18 mats at the competition (similar sized mats). I plan to empty the garage and finish it entirely with mats.***update***have had these mats for many months. They are great. I take them apart and put them back a couple times each week and there is no wear and tear. Some reviews mention them being slippery. I use a steam cleaner on them each week...takes me 10 min and keeps them clean; slippery wore off quick (just oil byproduct from being newly manufactured). I cut a circle in one tile and sat my Bob in it, no sliding around. These are great mats. I don't have the whole garage done yet, but working on relocating all my stuff. If you train and are sensible about what you spend, these are the mats for you. Of course, there are always higher quality set ups you can go with, but they are going to cost you more as well.

Excellent for the home gym
Prior to purchasing these, we had much cheaper foam mats that would always come apart when doing burpees and lunges. I finally gave in and spent the money on 3x3 1" MMA Interlocking Foam Tiles (108 sq ft worth) - I seriously should have done this much sooner! They are extremely comfortable on our feet - and they DO NOT come apart with burpees and lunges. They also feel excellent on a sore foot that I've had for a while. I am using them for Beachbody at home workouts - so far, with workouts from 10 Rounds, LIIFT4, The Work, 80DO and MM100. They work great for all.One quick tip - I keep an area rug over it when not in use so that the cats do no scratch it up. There are a few nicks around the edges from their back claws, but that was expected. The rug helps.

So far so good, we’ll se how long it lasts, but wouldn't recommend for grappling aka body slaming😉
Use this in my garage Dojo with My heavy bag, enough padding for standard Muay Thai, wouldn't recommend for grappling, not enough padding, but works perfectly for flying knees super man punches and all types of bag & foot work! easy to take apart and move sections of it to do jump rope work, plenty of cushion for jump roping and can be taken apart to stand up and put aside when not in use, I just bought 4-more 2’ X 2’ to extend my workout area.
