 Very fun! It is sound activated through a mic, and also has a thingy (for lack of better words) for a dmx cable to be plugged in. At first I couldn't figure out how to make it sound activated, vs a set pattern of lights, because it doesn't come with a manual, but I was able to look it up. You simply have to have it on one of the "S" settings on the control pattern on the back, which can be found by pressing menu. I'm adding a video from a time a messed with it... excuse the mess!

I honestly was debating about purchasing this item but after reading these positive reviews I decided to purchase it. All I can say is wow! the lights are amazing! Has many colors and is very bright. The only thing I didn't really like was the size. It was only 16 cm big. It was really small. But the size does not define the production this item brings. I don't know what to say anymore all I can say is just buy it. I know you're struggling with money since you're interested in these lights that cost so little. Also how you are reading the reviews just so you won't waste the little money you have. BUY IT. Its worth your money trust me i'm poor too.

Nice lights. We have it installed under the eve of an outdoor kitchen and broadcasting into a pool area. A few reasons this isn't a 5 star review:1) The unit's plug (and standard "computer" cord) doesn't fit tightly. It's the socket on the unit, not the cord itself.2) The unit doesn't appear well grounded. Brushing one of the screws on the back will give you a nice tingle. I'm considering grounding it myself, but haven't made it that far yet.3) The LCD on the back is largely useless. Unless you've memorized what the codes mean, it's just gibberish. And ours didn't come with instructions, so we just punch buttons until one of the color combinations we like comes on.Otherwise it's bright at dusk/night and we've had no durability issues.

Greetings from your average college DJ,This light is good and cheap option to bring life to almost any party. Amaze your friends by making your dorm room into a rave. The light itself can fill a surprisingly large space for its size. Comfortably it fills a mid size barn. I used it to DJ a Halloween barn bash. The only thing I was not impressed with was the build quality. The light is predominantly plastic making the possibility of cracking very prevalent. You can tell it was cheaply made but it still performs up to the standards I expected for the price. I was really surprised they included the DMX hookups on this, I usually jsut use it in sound activated mode which performs well. Bottom line if you not a regular DJ or just someone looking for a light to spice up the party, this is the light for you.  Great product, I was looking for a light for my party and this ended up working out great. For the price, it works really well. I think it has like 50 different custom lighting possibilities and goes to the music if you want it too. Haven't had any issues with it yet and it is very easy to move around because of its size and weight. Would deff recommend buying it.

It is small and puts out a wide array of bright light. It is a bit noisy with the light movements and the fan sound. It was very easy to figure out how to switch between modes. I feel the microphone for the sound response mode is very weak and only responds to close sounds that are sharp like clapping for instance but has trouble with musical tones. I would recommend if you want something entry level for djing it could do the trick but otherwise save your money for something nicer.Update. After 5 uses the mechanical function that controlled the motion of the light no longer works. Each use was less than an hour long and i was very gentle with it. Now the light patterns just vibrate and do not rotate.

I bought 2 of these and hooked them up through a Lixada 192 Channel DMX512 Controller Console I purchased on Amazon. They are super nice looking, and the videos posted in the review section here don't really do them justice. Unlike some Made in China items, the instructions are very clear and easy to read. The functions work as advertised. My one complaint is that there isn't a DMX channel map in the instructions. I have only managed to find 1 of the functions through trial and error using my DMX controller. That being said, if you are looking for a low-cost, high-impact light for your mobile DJ rig, or just for a household party, this is a good bet.

WOW! This DJ Lights device is perfect. I shopped for something that didn't have a constant, repetitive swirling or swinging or side movement like so many others have. This device has various movements, various speeds, various colors, various random patterns, and various effects that are synchronized to music via it's microphone. Perfect.

Didn’t last long before it started acting up and half working

The brightness was unexpected. Received two. One works great the other works 25% of the time. Ended up throwing it away.

When I first saw this I wanted too laugh but when I put it on and set it in my jaw was hanging open for such a small light too give off such a stunning effect and one's again add...

Junk. I guess you get what you pay for.

It was surprisingly small and made in plastic, however for the price and how it performs is surprisingly very nice! It covers a lot of ground for its size.

We were hoping light was much brigehter, but it worked okay for our School Valentines dance. Thanks

We bought two of these for our wedding reception. We are extremely impressed with its ability to adjust the lights to the tempo of the music!!

It stopped working after a month of use. It wasn't used everyday, but still the fact that it lasted a month means it isn't worth buying.
