I have ascended
I purchased these because I wanted to get into rock climbing and improve my grip strength. After waking up the day after I first used them, I crushed my cell phone with my bare hands upon picking it up. At the gym, I completed all the climbs up to v10, and them crushed a bowling ball between my thumb and index finger. I have so much forearm strength that I regularly take coal in my fist and create diamonds which I sell to buy more Metolius rock rings. This much power must be kept in the right hands. Do not use these unless you are ready to be a god.

Didn't even need the ropes for doorway hangboard!
Purchased this to work on grip strength but didn't want to drill anything into the wall. Originally planned to use the rope to hang these from my pull-up bar, but it ended up working out much better! The shape of these fit really well into my pull-up bar hand-holds, which is a Stamina brand that I got from Sports Authority before they went caput. I think this is the same one on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HBUNAO/) but not positive. Anyway, see picture for details! Holds my weight and my husband's (~200 lbs) as well without coming undone or wobbling, very sturdy.

Where are you going to hang them?
Overall this was a good "starter" set to practice finger strength.Pros:Solid block of plastic and seems durable.Provided strings are reasonably long.High friction surface that are easy to hold onto. The dangling holds make it more challenging for your core and shoulder muscles to hold your body still.Cons:Slightly more bulky and heavy than I wanted for traveling purposes (bring along a trip to hang in the hotel room? not easy to do!).High friction surface become tough on the skin as you get stronger. Wood becomes the better choice.Update:after about a year and a half, I have found these to be easier on the skin after the rough surface has been worn down with use. I would say wood is still better for the skin and -- because wood is more slippery -- a better challenge. These have held up well with use. As there is higher friction, I am able add more weights without being scared of slipping off. There's a trade off to everything I guess!

Yes, love these!!
I got these to hang, to open my shoulder and thoracic mobility. Also to do some angled rows to increase back body strength--I do ALOT of yoga. Trying to get balanced. I LOVE these. I plan to place mounts outside on an arbor we built and inside...not sure where for bad weather/winter. I had been using a chin up bar that can be placed in a door frame and removed afterward. That was ok, but was damaging door frame and is very clunky to store. These rock rings serve my purposes better, they are very easy to mount w/ carabiners and to travel/store away almost anywhere. Love the feel of the grips. Solid product, highly recommend.

Can't get a hangboard, so, I got Rock Rings instead. I love it
I couldn't buy a hangboard, because I move a lot. So, I got Rock Rings instead.I love those, because they are so easy to install. Literally, all I had to do was adjust the length of ropes and hang it.Range of finger training I can do with Rock Rings are limited (compared to a hangboard), but still these are solid training exercise tool. Also, since the rocks are not fixed to a position and can twist, these can help alleviate some pain from twisting my wrist as I do pull-ups.I'm pretty sure I will have something to complain about, but as of right now, I don't have anything to complain

Good for home training for renters
This is a perfect tool for training fingers if you are renting or in a tight space where you can't mount a full finger board. This also has the advantage of having two separate pieces for your hands, letting you hang them at different heights to train lock-offs and offset pull-ups. As a renter I can't mount these permanently, but I hang them from a Iron Gym Total Upper Body Workout Bar - Extreme Edition that I placed in my door frame. Combining the two I can now train pull-ups and wide-grip pull-ups with the Iron Gym, but also combine it with the rock rings for two heights of offset pull-ups and finger training.

bad quality control: sticky gluey material
I liked the shape and holds and all. no complaint on that. in fact I've been using Metolius Project Training Board for 2 years without any problems.the rock ring 3d, however, has some issue with the material. it was sticky and leaves some gluey residue on my hands. I thought, maybe something got on it during manufacturing. so I try to wash it off by tooth brush. nope, the glue was not on the rock ring, it just IS.I'm returning it as a defective product. I would like to get a replacement, but my concern is that there might be a whole batch of sticky rock rings so I may get the same sticky one. Not gonna take that chance. I'm buying a rock ring made out of wood instead. Please Metolius, if you are reading this, please be better at quality control and don't ship out sticky rock rings. I'm still rubbing my hands to get the sticky residue off.

A bit screwy...
The rock rings arrived screwed to a piece of plastic; the screws had the ends flattened, which meant it was extremely difficult to remove the screws. Why? You wouldn't believe how much of a pain in the ass that proved. I ended up sawing through the screw, because it was that or send them back, as the bolt wouldn't come off the screw for love or money... Beyond this, I'd hoped to hang these from a pull-up bar mounted in the door frame: whilst this is possible, I hadn't anticipated how close to the floor they'd end up, even with adjustment. If you're hanging from a pull up bar, it will have to be above the door to get full body extension - and even then you'll have to be short. One last small gripe: the rope they hang from hadn't been cleanly cut and melted back together at one end, meaning that the sheath slips down and the core of the rope puffs out when you try to undo a knot. Other than that, they're fine, and fast delivery.
