TupperwareKitchenware Fridgesmart Medium Deep 16 Cup Veggie Container

I use this to store lettuce and other salad greens in the fridge. I've only had it for a short time, but so far it's keeping the produce fresh. I've also had a smaller size container exactly like this one for a couple months and find it keeps cucumbers fresh and crisp for much longer than in cellophane or just in the fridge crisper. Would recommend both sizes to others.

We had to replace our refrigerator last year. Our new Whirlpool had a vegetable keeper which would not keep the vegetables fresh, so my husband stretched 2 pieces of plastic wrap over the top to try to keep some humidity in it. And then a piece broke off the drawer. Rather than spend the exorbitant amount of money to replace it, I thought about getting some kind of storage containers, and choose these. Two of these plus 2 of the Fridgesmart Mediums fit perfectly where the vegetable drawer should be. Tupperware is right - different veggies need different levels of humidity, and these containers make more sense than a big one-size-fits-all drawer. These containers are much easier to take out than off-loading a whole drawer or removing the whole drawer to make salad, and my husband is a big salad eater. They are also easier to clean than the big drawer. But best of all, the vegetables REALLY stay fresher much longer. My husband used to be so angry at having to throw out so many veggies with the old drawer, and thrilled that is veggies stay crisp and last longer so he no longer has to throw so much into the compost pile. We are both huge fans of these containers, and highly recommend them.

I especially like the Tupperware ACE system (Atmosphere Controlled Environment). I purchased this for my salad mixed leafy greens. Transferring them to this container helps them stay fresh longer (two weeks) instead of keeping them in the plastic bag they come in where they barely last one week. This size works well and gives them a little extra space. The reputation of Tupperware's durability is one that I have trusted for years!

This will be great for a salad, potato salad, or any number of fresh foods.
