Too much of the same
I really like his first book and I was very excited about this one. However, I am not impressed. There are a LOT of salads in there. Also, a lot of them rely on pork products to give them flavor. I have an allergy to pork and have found that lately there's more and more use of pork products in too many recipes. Yes, I have the option to leave it out, but after you remove that product the recipe left is a simple salad with not a lot of imagination. There are only a handful of recipes that I can do because of that problem. Yes, most recipes are clean, but I really did not wanted another book on salads. I wanted main dishes, hearty healthy dishes and that is not what the book has.

My go to cookbook
When I saw that Seamus Mullen had written a "healthy" cookbook, I was very excited to look at his book. I initially checked this book out of the library, but then kept cooking out of it, so I had to buy it. Yes, there are many strange ingredients and techniques, but that's exactly why I like it so much. I am always on the lookout for more paleo cookbooks. I find those cookbooks have good recipes, but the recipes in many of those books are quite similar. These are quite original. Currently, I have made 30 of the recipes out of this cookbook, and they have left me feeling clear-headed and energetic. I especially love the Shaved Vegetable and Arugula Salad with Kefir-Chia Vinaigrette and Sardines. Thanks, Chef Mullen!

Best Cookbook EVER - Best Tastes and Amazing Flavors - HEALTHY - Anti-Inflam
Seriously this book is amazing. EVERY recipe is better than what you can get in a great restaurant -and the fact that it is anti-inflammatory is just this huge extra bonus. While the health factor is what got me to this title, the flavors are the best ever- for anyone. I have used this book at least once a week steadily for more than a year (and even before the pandemic). If I could only take one book it would be this one. Recipes that I make over and over include the most delicious spaghetti squash and moroccan beef, the truly life-altering sauce of tomatoes, anchovies and pistachios (among other tasty ingredients and which I use over zucchini "noodles", or pasta), the granola (wow), his smoothie (so good for the skin), and much more! Enjoy it. (Oh, and the book is beautifully produced - pictures, recipe text and layout is easy - and the narratives are both interesting and easy to follow in terms of direction.) Good index, too.
