Porsche Cabriolet Top Protectant and Waterproofer

Worked great on restoring top on older Porsche. Looks great and repels water nicely.

I occasionally deep clean with Porsche top cleaner/shampoo. Be sure to let dry before applying the Porsche Top Protectant, after you've taken time to protect paint and windows. Spray the protectant according to instructions and let dry completely. This stuff works and Amazon sells it for less than a dealer. I've trusted this product for 20 years on a top that still looks good.... not new, but people ask me when I had it replaced and are surprised to hear it's the original top.

I used this on my BMW 1 series. I treated my entire top and had a little left over. Be sure to tape off your windows and areas that you don't want this to come in contact with. The only caveat I can offer is that this sprays a very fine mist and at a very low pressure. If you apply it outside (which I did) be sure there is absolutely no wind. The mist is so fine that it will easily blow away. The results are excellent. Water beads and rolls off like it's on glass.

This seems to be a good product, I previously tried 303 convertible top protectant and this works at least as well. But where this product excels is in the application - because this is an aerosol spray it is MUCH easier to apply than the pump spray products. It seems to provide good beading of water except in the heaviest of downpours, and I'm not sure any product will bead up in a pounding rain. So far I've only tried the 303 product and this one, and I prefer this one due to the ease of application. You still need to tape off your windows and surrounding bodywork to protect against overspray, but it's much easier to get an even application with this product. I probably used a little over half the can to treat the top of my Audi A3 cabriolet, but I went ahead and used up the entire can giving it a second coat. Hopefully this stuff will last a year, and then I can just buy a new can rather than try to keep up with a half-empty can and end up short during the next application. $22 per year to protect my top isn't that much.

Very good. Works as it should be on my 911 convertible car top Which is 10 years old. Make sure you do it outside as it is very chemical and spray on 2-3 layers until it’s empty. I had it dried after the first layer and then did a second one also recommend to cover the windows and parts not to be sprayed, saves a lot of time afterwards for cleaning as the stuff is sticky. A rainy day couple of days after proved the necessity as my top was soaking water in before.

The top protectant gives the convertible top a deep black, almost new look. The directions make it clear you must tape off the windows and car body from the top before applying. After that application is easy.

I watched several YouTube Instructional Videos before purchasing. In preparation I used the Porsche Top Shampoo and let dry overnight in a enclosed garage. I purchased a Horsehair Brush for use during the shampoo process then after the top was dried I brushed the entire top. Just before application I cleaned the top once more with one of those lint rollers, cleaning it right up. Keep in mind it takes time to adequately mask off the areas before you spray, I used 3M Painter's Tape and purchased a roll of Painters Plastic. I followed the directions by shaking the product a good full minute before using, I used a 3-Step stool so I would have a vantage point as I did the horizontal areas. I didn't wear gloves but did have a good 3M Respirator rated for solvents, pesticides, etc. (A MUST). I kept the garage closed because I didn't want the fine mist carried throughout the garage. I have a three car garage, remove all other vehicles, this isn't good on vehicle paint. I applied the product 4-7 inches from the surface, the fumes from this product are pretty strong so tell everyone in the house "Do not to open the entrance from the house into the garage". I opened the garage doors 30 minutes after application to clear out the fumes, removed the tape and plastic and gave the "All Clear" to the family. Hmmmm, Drying Time, nothing specified in the directions so I waited a couple of hours. I pretty much used the entire can on a Boxster Top, hope this helps.

20年前のポルシェ986ボクスター(2001年式）のソフトトップに施工しました。 スプレーなので、ガラスやボディーにつかないように、しっかり、マスキングしました。 スプレーは２回行いました。すぐに、撥水効果があるのはあたりまえですので、2ヶ月後の様子をお伝えします。 この2ヶ月間に、２週間に１回の水洗い、雨天時の走行２時間３回、合計７回程度、水をかけたことになります。 写真は、2ヶ月後の洗車時の、撥水の様子です。 参考になれば、いいのですが。

幌使用時に、出来ればマスキングをお勧めします、細かなところまで均等に防水処理したければその方が良いと思います。2〜3日後、防水の状態をみて弾きが不十分な場所を確認して2回目を作業すればさらに良いかと思います。良い商品だと思います、後は耐久性がどの程度あるかです。

アルファ4Cスパイダーのオープントップに使用しましたが、リンスした髪の毛のようなツヤが生まれました！すばらしい。脱着式のルーフなので、金属、ゴム部分をマスキングしてスプレーするだけで、趙簡単。耐久性は、これから様子見です。
