I am a beginner on learning how to play Kalimba. While I cannot speak to the sound quality, I think the built of the instrument is of nice quality. I don't feel awkward holding the instrument in my hands and playing the keys. The wooden box is smooth and the little heart-shaped design is a nice touch. In terms of the price, it was the best deal I could find that came with all the tools needed for tuning and cleaning. It also came with a small carrying bag which is great for transporting the Kalimba although I do wish it had a hard casing. I didn't give 5 stars because half of the keys were out of tune and for a beginner like myself, I spent a lot of time trying to adjust the keys to the correct tune. Overall, I believe it is a great buy.

This thumb piano came with a padded carrying case and all of the accessories needed to be able to play and tune the instrument. The picture for the listing looked digitally rendered so I wasn’t sure what to expect but it looks good in real life. (See my video). It also has a crisp sound. The booklet has instructions for tuning as well as scales and some songs. The booklet has grammar issues which indicate it was not written by someone with English as their 1st language, but it is easy to understand anyway. I have learned to play “Happy Birthday”, (the 1st song in the booklet) so I am looking forward to annoying everyone at the next birthday celebration I attend.

I purchased this as a gift for someone who loves music and plays many different musical instruments. I knew they didn’t have a Kalimba Ana would really get a kick out of having this and learning to master it.First of all I was pretty impressed with the presentation. It all came nicely packaged in a box. The Kalimba, itself, is in a nice carrying bag which also contains a tuning hammer and instructions to help you play your new instrument. I also found many YouTube videos to help him play more contemporary music. The instrument is fun and fairly easy to learn to play.The Kalimba is constructed beautifully. It is a nice instrument to display. The wood is pretty and highly polished. It would look great displayed in any music room or instrument collection. I am very happy with this purchase. I think it’s a great item for those interested in learning a new instrument at any age.

I had to update this to point out this is for the blue wooden Kalimbba, not the acrylic one that my review shows up on. I got this as a gift for my son. He enjoys it and it sounds good overall. Most of the keys sound clear and loud, except the high B*, C**, D**, and E** keys. It's not completely unexpected for those high keys. They need to be plucked firmly to get any kind of significant sound out of them. The C, D, E, and F keys get an annoying loose rubbing vibration sound, which is worse when played strongly. If your fingers don't touch the back side of the Kalimba when holding it and plucking the C, D, E, and F the vibration isn't as noticeable. However holding it just by the sides is a very uncomfortable way to hold it. I've found that pressing on the metal bar holding the keys in tension also reduces the vibration sound.The build quality on this is just off enough to make it a bit unpleasant to play. I suspect I could fix the vibration issue by wedging something under the bar to make it tighter. We don't play it seriously enough to bother though.The accessory set are all of good quality and a nice bonus. The carrying case is of surprisingly good quality.All said, if we ever buy another one, I will find one with a higher build quality. I'm positive it won't be another one from RJCKCC.

I bought this kalimba for my little nieces and nephews since they love playing with mine. I am very surprised at the quality and sound of this instrument. It was tuned right out of the box, comfortable to handle, has a crisp bright sound with no buzzing, and comes with a cute padded carry bag to boot. I myself own an April Yang kalimba which cost twice as much so I can compare the two side by side. This kalimba is comparable and sounds just as nice. Plus the tines are engraved with letters and numbers for easy learning.
