It works great on my fine hair. My hair does not appear to be fried. The device itself makes a strange ticking noise but it still works fine.

I didn't want to give only one star... because this was a phenomenal flat iron while it lasted. Worked great, heated up very quickly. BUT... After 5 months of moderate use (maybe 3 times a week, on shoulder length hair) the on/off button got "stuck" and wouldn't pop back up no matter what I did. The only way to get it to turn on would be to unplug it, then plug it back in. But it would stay on for a few seconds and then shut off again since the off button was permanently stuck in place. I am EXTREMELY disappointed, because this was a great iron... And it wasn't cheap. Now I am doing extensive research on which iron to buy next. I think I will stay away from digital irons to avoid this problem. Also, I learned a valuable lesson that when spending this much money on a product, I need to fork over the money for a warranty in case something like this happens. So Sad!UPDATE: Soooo This GK iron failed me about 6 months ago... Since then I have been looking for a new iron. I have purchased 2 others that have been in the same price range as this one and have had great reviews.... but they don't compare. Long story short, I am about to order this one again. This time I will save the warranty and take better care of it so the button doesn't break again.The reason why I love this iron is because no matter what temp I set it to, it NEVER damages my hair and gives me "frazzled" ends that need to be cut off. I am getting married in a couple months and I have been trying to grow my hair. I had to cut an inch off yesterday because of the Babyliss Pro Iron I purchased last week fried the crap out of my ends with ONE pass, only on 360. I am taking it back today, and ordering this one again. I have A LOT of hair, its wavy hair but the stands are very small and delicate. This iron has been the ONLY iron I have ever used that doesn't fry my ends. I highly recommend this iron, just take good care of it and save the warranty in case the button breaks.

Heats fast. Easy to adjust temperature. Works well with my long coarse hair. Easy to use. Cools down fairly quickly for packing away. My daughter had one first and I loved hers so I bought one for myself and one for my daughter-in-law. She really loves hers too. I left mine at home and was long stay elsewhere for a long period so decided to get another to leave there so I don't have to worry about forgetting it again.

Never worked right from day one! Didnt return it, as I was out of the country. Could not always get it to turn on. Came back, it didn't work at all (I didn't take it with me) and was denied by this company to return it. They said return time had elapsed. Junk! Expensive junk! Sick of all the crap on Amazon. Will only order USA made products. I have had it!
