HarperCollins Something For Daddy

We love all things Bing, but this book keeps my son engaged every time. He loves to point out when Bing is using too much goo, and the goo explosion never fails to crack him up.

This is nicely illustrated in the old style Bing illustration style, so it looks slightly different to the TV animation style, which I didn't expect but looks lovely, sort of vintage. My 2 year old didn't notice at all and is a big Bing fan.The story is nice and full of colour, it follows Bing as he makes some artwork for his daddy with lots of sparkles. There is only one mishap where he spills the glue but otherwise its completely free from the classic Bing whinging which as a parent I really dislike about Bing. It definitely encourages my daughter to whinge more when she reads about Bing doing the same which is why this is a good Bing book option.The only thing about it is that it implies that Bing has a Daddy when my daughter always presumed Flop was his Dad, so she has now renamed this book 'Something for Daddy Flop' to avoid confusion!I'm a mum of two who does lots of research and relies on reviews to help me choose the best products for my family. INFO:Paperback with a short story... perfect for bedtimePROS:1. Great story with repetitive questions ("Is it good? ...YUP") so my daughter remembers wording and answers the questions2. Bright colourful imagery (actually looks like the cartoon overview at the end of Bing episodes)CONS:N/ATIP:1. This particular book is loosely based on the episode Something for Sula (episode 23), where bing spills the glue and covers in sparkles! I showed my daughter the episode after a few times of reading the book and she was amazed!!!

OMG! If I am asked to read this 'story' one more time I will scream! my son loves it though. A very simple story- Bing makes a picture for his daddy - however ....he ends up making a big mess with a big bottle of GLUE as I insist on saying (not goo as it is in the book).

Was very impressed with the seller sending it so promptly. However, my daughter always checks the "Bing" books out at the library. We had not seen this one, and purchased it. Was cute, but did not have the flow of rhyme and content as the other Bing books. Bing Yuk, Bing Swing, and Bing Picnic still remain at the top. Purchase only if you have the other ones as the other ones will remain a treasure for your little one. Overall good purchase.
