for young old and in between! Great for hard times
One of my favorite devotionals since I was a young adult. Have misplaced a couple and this is my third one! It will get you through some hard times with not just the Word or wisdom, but great poems on top of that. Seems like the best time to need a devotional is when you’re having a hard time, and this one is perfect for that.

A Well of Peace in Life’s Dry Seasons
Streams in the Desert is more than a devotional—it’s a steady companion during hard times. Each entry offers Scripture, reflection, and wisdom that feels just as relevant today as when it was first written. The language has been updated beautifully without losing its poetic strength or spiritual richness. Whether you’re walking through grief, uncertainty, or just everyday weariness, this book offers quiet strength and a reminder that God meets us in the desert. A must-have for anyone looking to stay rooted in faith.

Timeless devotions
I have ordered Streams in the Desert many times over again through the years- but this is my first hardback copy. The devotions are insightful, and easy to read. You can use them as quick 5 min. reading or take your time and dig much deeper with included scripture references. I never get tired of reading through this yearly. Timeless way to strengthen your walk with the Lord and lean into the Word. Great gift idea.

Great Devotions
Even though the reason I purchased it was it was said to be large print - which it was not. I already have a copy that I love. I’ll plan to share this as a gift to a friend.

Godly encouragement of the highest caliber
If I could only have one shelf of books, Streams in the Desert would be on it. It is a book of Godly encouragement that everyone could benefit from, since sooner or later, we'll each have challenges. I like this version since my earlier edition was a little bit harder to understand with more formal word usage. This is a book to have and to give to anyone who is going through illness, sorrow, or faith-stretching times of life. I highly recommend this book.

This is a devotional that keeps on giving.
I personally love the original version because the old English makes me slow down and think harder about what’s being communicated. But I use this modern day version as a gift for people who do not want that challenge. This devotional meet you where you are at in anxiety, fear, and life challenges to validate, encourage, and lift your eyes to your Creator, and Maker who loves you.If you are like me, many people have advised ‘oh you need to read this book’ when your life is in crisis and you can’t handle one more thing. I received it during a season of unemployment, and then my husband had a stroke and life just got worse from there. Gratefully, I listened to the person who sent it to me and asked me to give it a chance. More than 10 years later, through a few seasons of affliction and suffering and now, through the loss of my husband, this devotional continues to comfort my soul and raise my eyes.

Good
The book looks great and I'm sure I'll enjoy it. However the beginning pages are ripped and that's disappointing
