i am not a professional sausage maker, but i have made a lot. i always buy Lem 1/1/2 x12 in. casing at my local academy store. they always come in a 10 count package. when i saw the same casings on amazon in a 25 ct. package, i jumped right on it.so, today i made 10# of venison sausage. i put 10 casings in warm water for at least 30 minutes before filling them with my lem stuffer. 4 of the 10 casing ripped open about 3 to 4 inches before the end of filling them, it looked like a horizontal cut about a inch long. it seemed like the split was where the casings were folded in the package.so now, my purchase of 25pcs. compared to 10pcs, in not such a good deal. Plus the time wasted of restuffing.

Worked very well!
Item arrived quickly and worked as expected. I used these to make Venison Summer Sausage for the first time along with the LEM Backwoods Jalapeno Summer sausage seasoning and high temp cheddar cheese that I got from someone else. LEM was out of the cheese.
