Q: Is this any different than the Gamblin's wax with the screw top lid?

I have used this pry top and it's fine. I have been waxing my watercolor abstracts. I seems to "enrichen" the colors a but, and also moves any pencil drawings around. G.M.

Cold Wax Medium is a mixture of beeswax and resin and could be thinned but does not need to be. It can be used to finish acrylic and watercolor paintings. Just rub it on with a soft cloth to a satin sheen. The watercolor paintings need to be mounted on a sturdy support. I use cradled wood panels. They can then be displayed without glass.

Q: Can this be used over chalk painted furniture as a wax varnish?

I mix cold wax with oil paint for art work and then apply the wax over the finished painting. I use a soft cloth to polish it after letting it dry. I think it could work over chalk in multiple coats and then polished but I have never tried that. It is thin so I am not sure of the long term effect.
