Rotary Carburetor Kit for B&s Replaces B&s 498260

I bought this kit because my Craftsman mower with Briggs and Stratten engine kept getting into a state where it would die as soon as it started. If i kept pulling then it wouldn't start at all.. if i waited for 10 minutes then it'd start for a few seconds and die again.I took apart the carburetor and found that it had some grass debris inside the bowl that was clogging up the holes on the bowl bolt. I put things back together and it was good for a couple tanks of gas but then the problem came back. Found more debris in the carb and looked around online at the breakapart and saw that i was missing a couple gaskets. The large bowl O-Ring and the funky shaped paper gasket that goes in between the carb and the airbox.I bought this kit just for those 2 pieces as it was actually cheaper than buying the gaskets separately. I was a little leery about the kit due to the low price point, but when it arrived I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the components.I replaced my missing components as well as a couple other easily accessible pieces. However, the majority of the kit was too much effort without first deeming those pieces to be the source of a problem, so i didn't install them. Those included the tiny o-rings, the foam rings, the spring, and the little metal discs.Everything ran fine after i put it all back together. However, one tip is to make sure you also drain and remove your gas tank then flush it out as best as you can to ensure that there's no lingering debris in there.I was very pleased with the quality of the kit as well as the completeness of having so many pieces, even though i didn't use them.

Worked great, many of these parts were useful but most were not needed for my model. I saved most of the old parts for my next carb overhaul but it was SO filthy inside that I took preventive action!By all means, the BEST thing you can do for your mower is to make sure there is a fuel filter (and fuel shut-off valve) upstream of the carburetor!!!!! It may save you having to buy a new carburetor or overhauling/clearing it of clogs.At first one of my mowers wouldn't start even after fixing the fuel flow because the fuel had gone stale. I had to change out the fuel before it would start, and then it started instantly! The only problem I am still having is that the choke thermostat is making one of my mowers shut off when it gets hot. I don't think this carburetor has anything to do with that, but it may happen to you if there is a choke associated with your mower/carburetor.

B&S carb kit was a perfect fit. Lawnmower fired up and runs perfect. Parts came on time.

Every thing was fine except the thickness of the large black ring , It was way to thin and the gas leaked out .

After receiving this item you can obviously tell it is not a genuine Briggs and Stratton carburetor rebuild kit but it works great. And the price is right. I will buy again once family and friends have issues with their mowers.

The quality of the materials is not quite as good as OEM Briggs parts, but it does the job.

Has all the parts needed to rebuild my carb. Don't do much wrench turning but this one was easy.

This was a good rebuild kit. Needed it to replace the needle and seat on an older Briggs & Stratton lawn mower because it was leaking gas out the front holes of the carburetor on the air filter side.

Looks like a good copy of the parts for the B&S carburetor on my Craftsman lawnmower. The only complaint is the pieces where kitted directly into the envelope, while almost all other parts kits I have received are inside at least a plastic package. Luckily there was a photo of the pieces included, as I opened the envelope all the pieces scattered onto the ground, and I at least was able to identify what was still missing on the floor. The hardest one to find was the tiny tiny grommet which took almost forever to find. So If you order this kit, just be cautious when opening the package in case all the small pieces are loose in the envelope.

Definitely the best price around, and comes with more than enough parts for my particular carb.
