I would recommend these any time.
Best thing to have in your home alarms are loud easy to set up.

Loud and effective!
I had been wanting to get some contact alarms for my patio doors as we are building a pool. I felt a chime would be easy to miss. I just tested these out and they are indeed loud. I like the white color, it blends well with my white door frame.

Easy set up!
I’m actually really happy with these, I’ve been robbed a few times in the past year and don’t have the money to set up expensive cameras and lighting all around my house and these give me more peace of mind for sure. Set up was easy and the tape seems pretty secure. I’m ordering more for my basement windows and sliding door.

Great small open/close sensor
Need to install alarms for windows and door facing my pool deck so we were notified of grandkids leaving the house towards the pool. These were very easy to install, have a small and low profile, are loud enough to be heard anywhere in the house. Best of all, they have a simple on/off switch so when no children are present, we can easily turn them off. Perfect for my application.

Easy low-cost solution where door alarms are needed
I purchased these to take care of a person with dementia who had some elopement history. They are inexpensive and simple to use. There were, however, two ways they failed. The front door gets late afternoon sun and would spontaneously go off when the door had not been opened - I think this must have been the sunlight warming the unit or otherwise interfering with the electronics. Secondly, an internal door failed to alarm a few times. I suspect the patient figured out how to defeat the alarm. These alarms could be used as a simple burglar alarm system and indeed I may yet do that, although they are no longer needed for patient monitoring. They are not foolproof, as detailed above. But they are very inexpensive and might be adequate for many home needs.
