TRAIL-GEAR GM Alternator to 22r/22RE Motor Bracket for Toyota

Worked well, but at least for an 81-84 engine block the lower bracket needs an additional spacer for one hole. I just stacked a bunch of washers as a temporary fix, but know that it doesn't quite just bolt up.

The construction of the brackets were quality and were installed easy. The BIG problem I had was the kit was not supplied with the washers needed for the lower alternator bolt. The kit also included an upper bolt that was way too big for the bracket! I had to use the old hardware bolt. If I really wanted to be pain, note the bolts are standard, not metric like the rest on your Toyota.

If you want to replace the factory Toyota alternator with a higher amp common GM 12si alternator this where you start. The brackets are well made and bolt on. This is a well made product.

The people writing good reviews simply have not had their bracket break yet... oh but they will! Aside from the minor issues of needing washers and the provided bolt not being the correct size, this bracket worked for me.. for a few months. Then it broke (like everyone elses), so I JB welded it back together where it broke.. and then it broke in another place! So I fabricated a 'brace' to hold it back together.. and it broke in ANOTHER PLACE... meanwhile I have emailed the people (Trail Gear) who make it multiple times and have received NO response, they just straight up ignored me even when I called them out in it.. longer story shorter I am back to using a stock bracket with the aftermarker alternator these brackets were made for, and the truth about this bracket repeatedly breaking on me until I couldnt use/fix it anymore is that I have had nothing but problem after problem, whether it's the belt being loose and constantly falling off because of the fitment difficulty in trying to use the old stock bracket, burning through alternators because of the bracket breaking or having to use the stock bracket with the fitment issues, ruining batteries because of the above, etc etc... my advice is, I don't know, I'm still going through bs like being stranded all day in parking lots because of the underlying issue of not having a proper bracket to use.. my best advice I guess would be to either NOT buy this bracket, or make one out of JB weld (lol!)
