Bought this pump for my 1986 Toyota pickup 22r. This pump works fantastic! I've had it for about 5 months now.

6-11-19 updateI just received another Aisin water pump today. The reason I am updating this review is becauseI just found out that Aisin is making water pumps in the USA and Japan. The first one I received andhad complaints about back in 2015 came from USA. The one I just received came from Japan. No comparison. The Japanmodel came better packed and better made. The box was small enough to ensure the gasket is not compromisedwith the rolling around of the water pump like the USA one was. The USA box was way to big and trashedthe gasket Had to buy a new gasket. Also, the Japan made water pump was way better moulded then the USA one.Hopefully this one will last. Note: never installed the USA one, because I did not like all the castingirregularities.05/29/2019FYI FolksHere is the email I received from Aisin regarding the water pump:Hello Jim,Thank you for the detailed photos you sent us regarding your concerns for the WPT-007 Water Pump you purchased.Looking at the pictures this Water Pump is an Aisin produced part.The machined mark you see on the front of the Water Pump is where we machined off the Toyota logo.Aisin does this because we are not able to sell an OE Water Pump to the aftermarket with the logo still present.Regarding the cracks you referenced to which are present on the surface on the front and back of the Water Pump,if you run your finger nail along these you should be able to find that these are raised ridges.If they were cracks they would form divots or valleys on the surface.These raised ridges on the surface of the Water Pump are a normal condition which is called Heat Checking.This is caused when the investment mold casting ages and tiny cracks form on the mold from the many temperature cycles it has undergone.Over time these cracks form and are pasted on to the aluminum casting itself.Reason the mold is still used is because all the parts produced from this mold still meet all structural and performance specifications required.I hope this answers all your concerns regarding the quality of the Water Pump. Luckily, I did not put this on my truck. It looked to have hair-line cracks in the inside and outside housing and I was not willing to run the risk. I returned it to AMAZON, I am now very skeptical about Aisin products. They used to be built very well and lasted. Now I am not too sure about their quality. I put a brand new Aisin Brake Master Cylinder on my truck and it failed with 6 months. Buyer Beware !
