PERFECT FIT
This seal is a perfect fit for my Presto 4 quart stove top pressure cooker. To install properly, you must seat the rubber seal completely into the groove and firmly hold it in place as you continue around the lid pushing the seal towards where you are holding it in place. Make sure the groove is totally clean before starting. Yes, it is a little tricky to accomplish, but is doable with patience - and some strength in your hands and fingers! This cooker is like new with the new seal and steam plug and should another 50 years.

THIS IS THE CORRECT SEAL TO REJUVINATE COOKER
If you have an older pressure cooker, bought one on e-bay, or got it from grandma, this is the part that makes it work. The kit contains the gasket ring for the lid, and the rubber safety blow-out. It takes some time to get the ring to seat in place, and it will look like the new ring is way too big, but it is the correct one. Just keep working it into place until all of it seats in the grove. Some cooking oil helps. It must be pushed all the way down into the grove. After it is in place, it will likely still look a bit too large. After a couple of uses, it will look perfect, and should last many years. What a great way to make an older pot just like new.

Doesn’t fit a Presto 409A despite stating that it is part number 09909.
I ordered this according to the part number listed on the Presto site for my pressure cooker. I was sent a single layer rubber gasket that was too small to fit. It is unusable. False advertising. Also, there is a $5.29 USD charge to return it. This ‘company’ is a scam.

I have a pressure cooker that is so old, I don't even know how old it is. But it was my grandmothers and she said it had originally belonged to her mother (guessing possibly as much as 80 years old). The gasket/seal had completely worn out, chunks were falling out every time I used it, and steam was always leaking out of the sides. We did not want to buy a new pressure cooker so I finally just took a chance and ordered this item, not sure if it was the right one for my pressure cooker. Well it was perfect. It took quite a lot of work to get the old gasket completely out, I had to use a Dremel tool with a pointy brush tip attachment on it to get the groove completely cleaned out to allow for a good fit for the new one. Once it was all clear, it fit like a glove. I put the lid on and used it and the fit and seal were perfect. Very good purchase.....I'm ordering a 2nd one now that I know I've got the correct one....so I can pass this pressure cooker down to my daughter some day.

Ring too big for my pressure cooker
Somehow the sealing ring was too big but the pressure release valve works well so far. UPDATE Pressure cooker was used, I didn't wash the top but when I took it up to use the pressure release valve was gone! Have no idea how it came out of the unit at all!

Don’t give up! Installing a little rough, but worth it!
Review for: Presto Pressure Cooker Sealing Ring/Automatic Air Vent Pack (3 - 4 Quart) (09909) I have an old 4-quart pressure cooker my mom gave me back in late-70’s and I hated to throw it out! Yes, most reviews complain that the gasket too big, when actually it’s not! It took some struggling and a couple of big paper clips, but it went in. I put a couple of inches of water and brought the cooker to complete pressure and it’s holding its own (picture depicting the pressure). Don’t despair… you don’t have to throw out your old pressure cooker!

Thanks Amazon
My Presto pressure cooker is more than 40 years old. I thought it was done when the lid began leaking steam. I found the part number in the original manual. I entered the number in the Amazon search box and the replacement sealing ring came up immediately. The sealing ring was easy to replace and it fit perfectly. The pressure cooker is working like new again! Thanks Amazon.

Incredible.
Incredible and many thanks to a company that supports it's products that are well over 70 - SEVENTY years old. My parents who are long gone, bought the Presto cooker in 1949. I remember Mom using it in the 1960's. Since then it was unused, stored away and forgotten. After cleaning it, I found of all places, you can get parts for it right here on Amazon. Using the guide still published on Presto's website, we've used it and it works as well as I'm sure it did when it was new.

Perfect fit for my 40 year old pressure cooker!
My 40 year old pressure cooker was leaking steam so badly that I couldn't use it. The new replacement sealing ring fits perfectly and my cooker is like new! I highly recommend this product.

To be notified of non returns before placing order and more information on the product.
A person with no model number or size referring to 4 or 6 qt Presto pot has very little option of getting the right size rubber seal due to the lack of inner measurement on your products. Re: for 6 quart Presto pot. You had everything except for the Advertisement which was not very clear or precise. Also once you ordered the product you could not return it., Upsetting, the consumer is not notified of this ahead of time and was notified only at the time of trying to return which in my case I wanted to replace the product from a 4 quart to a 6 quart rubber seal. This was due to lack of information. A $22.00 item that I cannot use. I finally found and ended up paying under $10.00 at Home Hardware. That incl. tax. Unhappy Camper.
