North American Wildlife: An Illustrated Guide to 2,000 Plants and Animals (Reader's Digest)

I am a sucker for nature and I’m always wandering what animal or plant I am looking at so every time I go camping or when I take a picture of something, I grab the book and search up what it is! As a nerd who’s loved animals since day one, this made my heart happy :)

Purchased this as update to one I have had for decades. Unfortunately many pages were uncut and I had to spend considerable time cutting them all.

Book arrived very quickly. It has good pictures and pretty decent descriptions. Great for reference info.

Very informational, drawings are beautiful.

Condition is GREAT! Bought it as a gift for school-age children. Very satisfied.

I bought this thinking it would be an update of the copyright 1982 hard cover version I bought thirty years ago. Nope. This "new" copyright year 2012 "paperback" is page-per-page the same as that old hardcopy. I can't fault it too much for that since it's still very informative, but give it four stars because I can find no additions/updates from the old to the new. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could.

Deshalb habe ich mir "Reader's Digest North American Wildlife: An Illustrated Guide to 2,000 Plants and Animals" besorgt, um mich auf meine zukünftige Karriere als Biber vorzubereiten.Vor- und Nachteile:Das Buch ist randvoll mit interessanten Fakten über die Tier- und Pflanzenwelt Nordamerikas. Von süßen Eichhörnchen bis hin zu furchterregenden Grizzlybären - hier findest du alles, was du über die Tierwelt wissen musst. Die Illustrationen sind auch wirklich beeindruckend und veranschaulichen das Aussehen der Tiere und Pflanzen sehr gut.Allerdings gibt es auch ein paar Nachteile. Zum Beispiel ist das Buch ziemlich schwer und groß, was es schwierig macht, es in einer Tasche mitzunehmen. Außerdem fehlen manchmal ein paar wichtige Informationen über die Tiere, wie zum Beispiel ihre Essgewohnheiten oder ihr Verhalten in der Gruppe.Fazit: Insgesamt ist "Reader's Digest North American Wildlife" ein großartiger Begleiter für jeden Naturliebhaber. Du wirst jede Menge lernen und dich gleichzeitig köstlich amüsieren. Und wer weiß, vielleicht wirst du eines Tages genauso gut wie ein Biber sein.

We bought this book for most of our family and some friends for Christmas. I check mine often when I see a different bird or wondering about different animals.

Bought this book as a gift for my grandaughter as she loves animals and although she is only eight years old, I can see that this book will last years and so comprehensive - includes so much - animals, plants etc. very impressed with it!

Love the illustrations and descriptions for thousands of animals/plants/ insects/ fish species. Only wish they had made pocket size versions of this as well since this one book contains vast depth of knowledge and facts! Very detailed and impressed by this book indeed. Buy NOW!
