Scott Hahn's Study Guide for The Lamb' s Supper

I had the book and was contemplating using it for an Adult Ed class at my parish ... so I got the study guide, but we ended up going in another direction. So while its easy to read and absorb, we didn't end up using it for a class.

Having just finished facilitating the St. Paul Center Bible Study, "The Bible and the Mass," which has "The Lamb's Supper" as its recommended text, I found this study guide a very valuable supplement to the book and the presentation materials. Each chapter corresponds to a chapter in the original book. All follow the same format. They begin with three bulleted "key points" followed by a 1-2 page summary. Several related scripture references provide solid foundation for the material. A "doctrine" section provides supporting material through quotes from one or more of the CCC, the Fathers, Church documents, or contemporary churchmen. A song, usually familiar or with a familiar tune provide beauty and inspiration (singing along, even to yourself, is encouraged). Closing out each chapter are seven "questions for reflection and discussion" followed by recommended reading from some of Dr. Hahn's other books. These questions, developed by popular author Mike Aquilina, are really the key to this small book. Whether reading "The Lamb's Supper" on one's own, working through it in a group setting, or using it as part of a larger Bible study, these questions serve to really drive the material home by focusing on its relevance to and impact on the reader's own life. Armed with this book one need not hesitate in starting a study of his own, alone or by inviting others, even if he has no intention on providing additional material or questions.

Great for individual, RICA, or group study. With this study, Scott Hahn adds summary and key points, scriptural references, excerpts from Church teachings, songs of praise, and questions for reflection and discussion for each section of THE LAMBS SUPPER, The Mass as Heaven on Earth, his best selling work.Scott Hahn in his TV discussions on this subject is completely full of joy and enthusiasm as he takes us from the Old Testament worship development to the New Testament worship, and then explains many symbols and songs found in the Book of Revelation. They are prayed and sung in today's Lamb's Supper, the Catholic Mass, and most of we Catholics do not even understand or know this.This is a must buy companion book as well as purchasing the Lamb's Supper- The Mass as Heaven on Earth, by Scott Hahn. I have already purchased a second set, as I gave the first one away to my daughter.

Was only looking for the book and stumbled upon this. So excited to start with both of these. Love the author so am very excited to get started.

This isn't a very big book but it took me a few days to get through it, because I kept going back to the book of Revelation to try and clear in my mind what he was alluding to. I enjoyed his interpretation on what he feels the book of Revelation really means, because I think GOD ALONE knows just what John was experiencing while writing Revelation, it is so bizarre. I do hope Mr. Hahn is right because that means for me personally, I'm on the right track. I love the Mass, and receiving the Eucharist. I am a Eucharistic minister for the homebound and hospitalized, and have experienced wonderful stories from these people which certainly elevates my faith.

Between the book, DVD, and this study guide. I am inspired every day to pick it up and reread portions just to keep my memory refreshed. One thing these items have brought to me is the desire to celebrate Mass almost every day of the week just so I can watch, learn, and spiritually participate in my own marriage ceremony to the Lamb of God. Of course, I'm not the only person there, but my view is that the priest is standing in place of Jesus Christ himself offering up the bread and wine and turning it into the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.

If you are confused by the Book of Revelation and how it applies to your Catholic life, or even as a Protestant, and you are wanting a different slant other than the "Late Great Planet Earth" by Hal Lindsay view on the Book of Revelation. This study guide is a great companion to the book. Suggest if you are going to review this book, do it with your Bible Study group, friends from church, and enjoy how the Book of Revelation applies, other than the Tribulation view.

And non Catholics would get an insight into the very core of our faith. I found Dr. Hahn's enthusiasm pull me along.

The study guide for The Lamb's Supper, although in my opinion is not necessary for the enjoyment or study of the subject text book, - It can possibly be used quite effectively to promote further study and group discussions on, Revelations and The Mass and many other books of the bible. It could be a welcome edition to your Christian book library.

Very useful. I am part of a group of people who facilitate bible study at our Parish. the guide is a tremendous help in setting an outline to make this into a Group Study. From an initial look it would also be useful for an individual who wants a deeper understanding of the Catholic Mass and it's relation to scripture.
