Exactly what the doctor ordered!
I was ready to break out my plasma cutter and welder and make my own until I found this for my MX27AQ...works like a charm! It's probably a little too pricey, but it is a super easy install with easy to follow directions. The bracket does (has to) force the monitor forward about 5 inches since it has to accommodate the Asus stand arm so if you have a weaker wall mount or can't anchor it to the wall securely this "might be a problem", but not on mine. This adds only a tiny fraction of weight, the VESA wall mount I'm using for this is only rated for a max 15 lbs and it works flawlessly. It doesn't fit flat to the wall, and I see no way of doing it without creating other holes and/or breaking out the sawzall, cutting off the stand arm and making your own bracket (thereby voiding your warranty), which I had strongly considered until I saw this. Asus should hang their head a little for no VESA. This was previously a deal killer for me, but HumanCentric did a very nice job capitalizing!

Stay away if you have a MX27AQ.
I bought 3 of these to go with my 3 ASUS Designo MX27AQ 27" WQHD 2560x1440 IPS DP HDMI Eye Care Frameless Monitor and to mount on a Vemount Articulating Triple LCD LED Computer Screen Desk Monitor Mount Stand for 3 14 15 17 19 20 22 23 24 27" inch Samsung Sony Vizio ViewSonic Acer Asus Dell Sharp LG PC, Full Motion, Tilt Swivel .It did not perform well at all. The monitor does not fit in tight and sits back 2 - 3 inches away from the mount point. The monitor is stand/arm is supposed to slide all the way back and nest into a divot toward the back and then use the mounting bolt that you got with your monitor to tighten it in and hold in place. There is about a 1/4 inch of space on either side of the monitor arm, when fully in place, causing not to seat securely. The mounting bolt is only point of contact on which you can tighten to attempt to reduce play. Do to the poor seating and loose connection, it is rather easy to have to monitor sway from side to side. If this monitor much lighter it this design may have worked well but as is the monitor easily wiggle back and forth scratching up the arm.If this kit came with a way to properly secure the monitor to the mounting bracket it would preform way better and would be acceptable, maybe great. The metal it is constructed of seems to feel very sturdy and reliable. The issue, again, is how it secures to the mount. As a mount for the MX27AQ it fails horribly due to its design. With the parts given, there is no way to secure the monitor to the mounting stand and have it feel solid. Having only one point to tighten to with a monitor of this weight is far from proper design. I honestly feel like using duct tape would give you a more reliable set-up.You may have better success with a smaller or lighter monitor, but if you are looking for an adapter for a MX27AQ look elsewhere.

nice piece of metal
very nice piece of metal indeed. very solid and heavy duty steel with a smooth painted finish and no rough/sharp edges.package includes 4 screws to mount as well.given its durability and feel in the hand I expect it to last forever.the only con is the price. personally I feel that paying $30+ dollars for a single piece of steel is a bit crazy but at the end of the day I needed the product and this is the only company that makes it (since ASUS doesn't themselves), so it is what it is :pgood product overall.

barely holds on, doesn't allow pivot
This is okay but I wouldn't purchase it again. I have an MX25AQ and the way the monitor adapter works it puts a HUGE amount of space between the monitor and adaptor so that the monitor is now sticking out into my desk space in a very intrusive way. I bought this so that I could pivot my MX25AQ 90 degrees to be in a portrait format and this adapter has the monitor held on by only one small screw that does not screw on very tightly. Because of this, the monitor slips around whenever I try to move it to the portrait mode and generally seems weak - I'm always afraid it will snap and my monitor will crash. Basically, even though the MX25AQ barely has any movement to it at all, I will probably end up just using that - the pivot feature was the main one I wanted and it simply doesn't work with this adaptor (and yes, I tried to purchase the other monitor that has a pivot function in its own stand, but I was sent the one I have by the mistake of Amazon). I'm not sure why else someone would need the adaptor (besides pivoting) but if yo want the monitor to basically always stay in the same place I guess this is okay. It would probably work better to just mount a floating shelf and use the original stand.

It works as intended.
I bought this for my 3rd monitor to mount on my new 3 monitor mount. The stand uses the VESA mounts but my 3rd monitor is an ASUS IPS monitor that has no holes or anything to mount with. This basically takes the place of the round base of the monitor and allows you to mount it to a VESA stand. The problem I ran into here was that because the monitor isn't attached closer to the mount like the others, it weighs it down. It's such an issue that I had to use some wire to keep it from tilting a lot more even though I had it tightened as much as possible. I don't blame the seller of this product for this because from what I can see, they really didn't have too many options for the adapter. Anyways, it's a reasonable price, good quality item that functions as it's supposed to.

Well thought out and designed
I badly wanted to get a mount to take my monitors off the desk but could never figure out how to get my ASUS monitor up on a mount. This adapter fixed what seemed to be an insurmountable problem. It is easy to install and works like a charm. The customer support is top-notch. I received a couple of emails from the company after the purchase to verify that I bought the adapter for the right monitor and instructions on how to use it. One thing I do think should be mentioned. If you are using this adapter I think it is important to use a sturdy desk. As the description says, the adapter does hold the monitor out further from your mount which puts more strain on the mount arm than normal. Any vibration from the desk will be amplified. My desk is very sturdy and this adapter solves my problem. I gained back a lot of my desk top. Job well done on the design.

Finally available again
The MX27AQ stand is a bit of an awkward stand to adapt to a vesa bracket but this does actually fit stably. On a side note the nature of the original stand makes the monitor push further forward than a usual stand so it may end up closer than you would like. Not really the adaptors fault though. Bit pricey too really but I don't regret it.

VX278
I fitted this to my VX278 monitor by trimming off the plastic on the foot. It works perfectly.

It works
The brackets work as intended. A little wobbly and not as secure as you would expect. However if you have an ASUS monitor not designed for mounting you have little option than to use these.

We got this for the MX279h and it doesn't tighten on the bracket so it flops over and is a total waste of money and effort
