Body: the Complete Human
I just received this book, in hard-cover format. I'm using it for my daughter's human anatomy class in home schooling. The pictures and features are incredible! One interesting feature is that every topic comes w/an information box that shows medical/scientific updates on this topic. Another feature is that each topic provides you with internet links to the National Geographic website, where you can get interactive information. Easy-to-understand text makes this book valuable for those of us with a non-medical background. My daughter is very excited to have this book in her library. It is National Geographic, so the quality is top-notch. (I would like to add a caveat that this is not a school textbook).

BODY, THE COMPLETE HUMAN HOW IT GROWS, HOW IT WORKS, AND HOW TO KEEP IT....Patricia S. Daniels
We all LIVE in our body everyday. We ought to take the time to study it's construction; it's marvelous, wonderful systems and acknowledge that we were DESIGNED by our GREAT CREATOR. We didn't evolve. When you study and see how it works with all the immutable biological laws literally beyond our comprehension, you will desire to take care of your body. This book is filled with pictures and references to answer your questions.

It's a Book
This book delivers the intended purpose. I was not looking for a great story. Photos and words easy to understand. A good review of all of the body "things" we have forgotten since school.

Don't remember getting. Not much hope of a refund after all this time, I suppose. But it looks interesting.

The book is interesting with some clear explanations and very well done graphics. I would recommend this book and the price is reasonable.

Excellent book about the body
This book by National Geographic is a very high quality, excellent resource book. Great to just read, look at the pictures and diagrams, or to use as a reference book. Kids (4th grade+) and adults will find it interesting!

Great Book
Am using this text for the Stanford University "Mini Medical School" courses. The book is great and simplifies learning the structure and function of the body.

Great Book.
Just skimming through this book right now, it seems to be great. The thickness certainly does seem to indicate that it contains almost, or everything about the human body. I haven't been through the book thoroughly though, as in, reading right the way through it, but from what I saw by skimming [slowly] through it just now, it does seem to be very comprehensive. I suppose there are more detailed books out there, but for the price of this book, I really don't think you could go expecting anything more. It's got 14 sections/subjects in the index at the front of the book...BeginningsBody ArmorStructureBody MoversCirculationVital ExchangeBody FuelBody CleansingControl CenterMessengersReproductionProtectionAgingThe Future BodyFor anyone that's looking for a book on the human body that's very comprehensive and doesn't cost that much, this is it.Edit: I've just noticed after starting to read this book that some paragraphs seem to have been placed in that have continued from -- nowhere ... ?Edit 2: Actually, the paragraphs that seemed to have continued from nowhere, these had continued from about 2 pages back. The reason why I didn't notice them, was because I only looked at the next page instead of looking further on.

Very Comprehensive & Indepth
"Body: The Complete Human" is just the book for anyone wanting to know more how our bodies function, what does what and about DNA & Genetics. The book is well written and has a wealth of indepth and comprehensive information, but it is written in a way that the non-medical student can understand. We all want to look after ourselves and have the best health we can. We all need to understand our bodies in order to do this. I believe that this book is one that should be on every family book shelf as an essential reference book.

Nice, big book
Easy to read, clear and informative for me. I have a casual interest in this stuff. Unfortunately I lost it when I moved house and I want to learn about lungs. Darn it.
