Prodyne Revolving Tray, Off-White

I bought one of these appetizers on ice tray for myself this past summer and used it for every party we gave and took it to work 4-5 times. It worked so well that I bought 3 more them this Christmas season to give as gifts to my sister, my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law. The all loved them for Packers football games and entertaining.

First off, this serving tray is big - it works really well for larger gatherings but I think is a bit of an overkill if used for smaller parties.I like that it has two ways of using it: Either with the vented top trays to keep food cold, or only the bottom half with its three compartments - for example for chips, crackers or an assortment of nuts, i.e. foods that do not need chilling.The first time I used this was for chilled dishes that contained some sauce/liquid, so the vented bottoms on the top trays didn't work for that. I solved the problem by lining the trays with aluminum foil in order to keep the liquids from seeping through into the ice cubes. That worked well and still kept the dishes chilled.All in all the perfect tool for summer parties or buffets.

This is a fantastic serving Dish. I serve cold cooked shrimp often, with this dish you can put ice on the bottom of each section, sit the plastic tray on top of the ice, put the shrimp in the tray. There is a lid for each section ,what ever you want to keep cool will stay cool for a long time. In the center is a place for dipping sauce. Bought one for each of my 4 brown children and give them as a wedding present.

I grew wheatgrass in this and it worked great! Easy and clean, no worries about sand in my sprouts!

This server is large enough to hold a goodly amount of a variety of items, and, because the individual trays can sit over ice, stay cool for an extended period of time. Construction quality is excellent, and the price is reasonable. The only thing missing is a cover so that a prepared bunch of appetizers can be transported to another location (I used aluminum foil).
