Awesome addition to my tools!
These are awesome!!!! They will end up saving me a lot of time and skin on my knuckles. I have always used pliers when battling those pesky OE clamps that always seem to be put on in a way that makes it almost impossible to get off. These little guys here ensure I can lock down on those clamps and get them off the first time! Oh yeah, did I mention they are ratcheting and also lock...these ROCK!

Good for easily accessible clamps, fantastic for hard to reach ones
One time after wasting way too much time in a job getting a hose clamp off, I thought to myself, 'I bet they make a really cool tool that would make this a piece of cake.' They do. Here it is.For hose clamps that are right in front of you, these work fine, but it's sometimes just as quick to use normal pliers. However, for difficult to reach hose clamps, like on lower radiator hoses, heater hoses, etc., these make a huge difference. It's easy to waste 10 minutes trying to get a stubborn hose clamp off when you can't get to it with normal pliers. With these, you simply turn the ends to the correct angle, slip these pliers down there, squeeze, maybe shoot the clamp with some silicone spray to get it to slide more easily, and take it right off. No swearing, no removing other things to get a better angle, just 30 seconds of drama free work.To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what the round head one is for, but I mostly just use the other one. I've used the round one for smaller spring clamps, but maybe there's a type of clamp that I don't see much where the round one is perfect. Even if you only use one of these most of the time, this is still a great deal.

Nice to find a handy tool... could use improvement, but I am keeping. Use them once and you'll agree.
This is one of those tools you get and then wonder how you ever did without. Makes quick work of hose clamps. Handy time saver! Not as well built as the Made in USA Vise-Grip. But, these Hose Clamp Pliers have a very specific function... and, they do it well. I would not rely on these to hold you dangling from an I-beam like Vise-Grips... just not that solid. But under a car trying to get off a hose clamp - I'll take these any day of the week.Country of origin Taiwan: Taiwan tools are generally better than Chinese made tools. Taiwan seems to use better raw materials and hardening. You know what helps me look for country of origin labels? My reading glasses from Amazon: SightLine Computer Glasses STEW GUN 2.50 . Sightline computer glasses are even better as computer glasses! The downside of these plyers: Ratchet system is clumsy.

Outstanding customer service
I bought this set months ago and put them away for the time I would eventually need them. When that came, six weeks ago, one of the pliers quickly failed when the piece that holds the hose clamp broke off and disappeared. So why the five-star rating? I looked up the OTC web site and mailed the broken tool to the company's facility in Illinois. I explained what happened, and noted that I had owned the thing for months but used it only a few times.Today a box arrived with BOTH pliers, even though only one had failed. This is world-class customer service. Only when I went to the OTC web site did I learn that the company is owned by the Bosch organization in Germany. While their replacement of my tool is a tiny gesture for them, it speaks to a company philosophy of doing right by the customer. I have had this happen before: Several years ago I wrote to the Rustoleum company to complain that I had purchased several of their spray-can handles and they had all failed or performed poorly. Not only did they send me two newly redesigned handles -- that I still use -- they sent me a check for $35 to cover the cost of the others I had purchased. I have purchased hundreds of cans of their spray paint over the years and of course continue to do so.The flip side is horrible customer service from the Lululemon athletic wear firm in Canada. When the zipper on a friend's expensive and overpriced jacket failed, I mailed the jacket and a letter of explanation on behalf of my friend to the company headquarters. I mentioned how I am also the owner of two of their products -- one by virtue of getting it as a gift from my friend. The company mailed the old jacket back. "Screw you, dumb customer" was the implicit message. The Lululemon Wikipedia entry is full of negative information about the company, and I will just add to it every chance I get. Meanwhile, OTC/Bosch gets my praise for a nice, inexpensive set of invaluable hose clamp pliers -- and customer service that deserves five stars, too.

Not bad for the price
I work on cars for a living and purchased these after my tool truck branded ones disappeared. After using them several times, Ill say they work fairly well, but the ratchet/ lock/ whatever you want to call it is always "on" so anytime you squeeze the pliers they will lock. This can be frustrating in tight spots where you dont always get on the clamp the first time. Not bad for the price, good DIY tool. Id prefer the style where you can flip the lock off and on.

These hose clamp pliers will get to those hard to reach "squeeze" type hose clamps.
This 2-piece set can be used on many different types of "spring style" clamps. The round holders, which make up the jaws, can be turned so the correct head size can be selected, for appropriate hose clamps. Another nice feature is the locking handles. Once locked, you will not need to hold constant pressure on the handles, which allows the clamp to stay expanded, until after its installed again. These OTC brand pliers are top quality, and I mean as good as any on the tool trucks. I own these so I can vouch for their usefulness. Wish I had bought them sooner.

Every tech needs a set of these in his box.
I used to wrestle hose clamps off with pliers and vice grips. These do 90% of my hose clamp removal now, quick, easy and painless. Not the strongest looking tools but they work fine for hose clamps. The locking feature is nice so once you compress the clamp you can use both hands to slide the clamp around rather than have to use one hand to keep the clamp compressed. Great tool for saving wear and tear on hands. Every pro tech should have a set of these.

Complemento ideal
Buen material y agarre, solo que las muelas que usa no son practicas para todas las abrazaderas

Could be better but for the price OTC has a home run in these.
For the money I doubt you could find better. Another high value proposal from OTC.
