I have a K5AA purchased some 25 years ago, and the this part DOES fit. However, I have found the finish of the replacement part to be inferior to the original. The original whisk attachment is entirely stainless steel, including the base, whereas the base of the replacement unit purchased May 2019 appears to be cast aluminum. We'll see how well it might hold up. I may also look to repair the original (one wire attachment came undone). **Q: Will this fit Kitenaid Model K5SS ?** A: I bought this for my Model K5-A, and it works great. Replacing the originally shipped ones that blacken, chip, and cannot be dishwashed to Stainless Steel. I opted for OEM vs after market for my mixer's health, balance, and longevity. It works incredibly fast to raise large amounts of egg whites or heavy cream into stiff peaks. Incorporating ingredients thoroughly is also quick and requires less scraping down of bowl. It is all stainless steel, and can be cleaned in the dishwasher.Because this whip has nearly double the amount of wires as the original, you’ll need to adjust the motor speed downwards, and cut mixing time in about half. It works very, very, fast, so don’t look away from the bowl while whipping.
