Golden Fire: The Story of Cider

Very informative
I'm a cider maker, so I'm sort of a captured audience.I like the book, and the stories are good. My only regret is that it's written in an almost academic voice, but it's anecdotal in presentation since no citations are provided. Basically, you feel smarter, but you can't prove it. (Better have another cider) That said, enjoy the read.

Well crafted, but unnessarily tedious in the wrong direction.
This is a well written book, but be warned it is weighted toward historical fact finding than on the actual facts that delight enthusiasts. I didn't expect a how to book, but did expect a more intriguing read. 3 stars for the quality of workmanship, but may be tedious for the average cider geek.

One of the best cider histories so far
This is an important, well researched history of cider in Britain.

An excellent book. An in depth review of the history ...
An excellent book. An in depth review of the history of cider from pre history through to its peak in last 1600s and recent resurgence. If you only buy one book on cider, this is the one. Very readable but learned.
