This book of stories by the best contemporary Gazan short-story writers presents life in the Strip under its many guises. By turns, funny, tragic and grotesque, the underlying edge of desperation will leave readers in no doubt about the hardships of life in the world's largest open-air prison.

Terrible Translation
This book is more of an aspiration than anything else. The translations are terrible and lose all the beauty and nuance of Arabic language. I commend the attempt to translate a book of short stories by Gazan authors, but as an Arabic speaker, the Anglicized text and slang do not do justice to the stories.
