Delicious Flavor - Eat in Moderation
CarbRite Brownie Mix includes chocolate chips in it - and the resulting brownies are only 1.5 grams of net carbs per large brownie! That's only 174 calories. This is definitely recommended for anyone who loves chocolate and wants to be healthy too.The brownies are very easy to make. You add in 3 eggs, 1/2 cup of butter and a teaspoon of water. That's it. Bake for just under an hour, then chill for an hour in the fridge. What's neat about the brownies is you have options as to how they come out. Depending on how long you bake them, you can get them to be more cake like or fudge like. We like them about half and half. The chocolate chips seem to "sink" into the mix, which gives it the fudgy aspect on the bottom layer. It's a really nice texture, with a crispy top. Even several days later, the ones that are left (assuming you eat them at a reasonable pace) are still quite tasty. Now I do want to comment that you SHOULD eat them only one at a time. My boyfriend was a bit greedy when we first made these, and ate a bunch. These are LOADED with sugar alcohols. There are 15g of sugar alcohols per serving. This gives it a fantastic sweet flavor - but they cause digestive problems if eaten in large quantities. One brownie is fine. Six brownies .... less fine. Be wise. Eat just one. Some people ask me why they don't just use Splenda instead of sugar alcohols. Splenda doesn't bake as well as sugar alcohols do - the flavor comes out differently. I really do believe this is the best formulation for its fantastic flavor, but again, be aware of the content. Eat in moderation.I really love these. You get a rich brownie flavor for hardly any calories and almost zero carbs. It really is quite ideal for anybody who loves chocolate - on any eating plan - who wants to avoid sugar. The nutrition values are: 174 calories, 12g fat (no trans fats), 55mg sodium, 3g fiber, 15g sugar alcohols, 1.5g net carbs. You get tiny amounts of some vitamins, nothing to really consider important.I would even recommend parents make these for their kids, if their kids demand chocolate, rather than giving them sugary versions.

Thank goodness, someone made a low-carb mix that doesn't taste like horse feed!
These are great for diabetics. There's debate about them really being 1 net carb - some experts say you should only subtract 1/2 of sugar alcohols, rather than all of them, from the carb count, but even at half the sugar alcohols they are still incredibly low carb. And they are good! You do need to let them sit for a couple of hours for them to fully mature. And they don't taste so overwhelmingly sweet, like some brownies do. But they are lovely and chocolaty, and the longer they're in the fridge, the better they get (as far as our tastes go). We've got them on auto-purchase to come once a month for our special treat. I wish this company would branch out and make more kinds of mixes. There really are not many low-carb dessert mixes out there at all. (Plenty of gluten free, since that's what's trendy now, but not much in the low carb realm.)

Real heavenly CHOCOLATE Brownies event!!
Wow, I bought this without reading reviews and had it sit in my pantry, fearing the taste and the carbs. So, I just had a real craving for something totally delicious-gooey-chocolaty-who-cares-guilty pleasure. Said what the heck...still haven't read the details on the box, had no idea this has only 4 carbs...let's go all out was my plan. But...I didn't want to feel the guilt too deeply, so figured adding fiber will reduce the total carbs. SoI added nuts, China seeds and sugar free chocolate chips, the chips for just in case this was terrible. Oh my gosh! Is this ever delicious!I was just about to toss the box when I noticed the 4 carbs! what? only 4 carbs? Now I was in real chocolate sweet no guilt heaven! This is soooooo incredibly good, so chocolatey, the chips I added just melted with every bite, the crunch from the nuts and the texture of the China seeds makes this a indescribable trip for the mouth, flavor, texture, and more flavor that lasts.I'm going to try adding some Siracha pepper in my next batch, just in a small section. Bet that will taste great. Maybe some sea salt sprinkled on bottom of pan?Didn't go crazy and eat more then 2 small pieces, yes I cut it into one inch squares so they will last and last. I have one in the evening, skip the Metamucil, and in the AM all is on schedule...lol..chocolate regulator! Some gas, some cramping when I eat more then one, but that's something I have more days then not anyways and without the wonderful treat, so this is worth it for me and manageable. Will definitely have a box on reserve for the next "what-the-heck-give-me-a-chocolate-brownies-no-guilt-day.Proceed with caution and restraint, for sure!

A tasty alternative for a low carb - no sugar snack craving
I really enjoy these and will buy them again. I doctored the mix up by adding a bit of vanilla and espresso powder, something I do to any brownie mix. I also folded in a package of fresh blueberries. That gave that hint of sweetness I was craving. I made mine in an 8" cake pan, baked in a water bath for 45 minutes. Be sure you use real butter, not margarine. Next time I'm going to add fresh raspberries and pecans. Because of the high fiber content you probably don't want to eat more than 1. I cut them into 8 wedges and had one. It satisfied and I had no side effects whatsoever. I'm super sensitive to artificial sweeteners and had zero side effects from these. No artificial aftertaste, just chocolaty goodness (no doubt enhanced by the espresso powder). Nice to know I can still indulge. These are NOT SWEET so if you're expecting that, you'll be disappointed but the addition of the berries made them just perfect for me.
