Gun Digest Shooter's Guide to the Ar-15

Just a staight up book on the AR 15 and does have some great info on the AR 15....there are those that want you to believe that there isn't any insight that you can gather from this book. It is certainly not the AR 15 bible. But indeed it is worth the small price you will pay for this book and info gained.I cannot comment saying that if I had to do it over that I would not buy this book...I would. And I will recommend this book for those with some knowledge of the AR 15 or experienced as well. Certainly for beginners but if you're a beginner of the "Black Rifle"...this book is a great resource to start off with....and just keep reading other resources as well. But we all know that "Everything" on the internet is true...so this means that everyone posting on a subject matter pertaining to the AR 15 is true....so no need to buy any book and read.See what I'm saying here?

As a new AR 15 owner, I needed a more gentle introduction about the features of the rifle. This book answered all of my questions (including what that dust cover thingy is-- I had never seen one on a rifle before). It also gives a large number of future possibilities in terns of potential additions to the platform. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking information concerning both the basic and intermediate information on the AR 15.

A good basic introduction to the AR-15 platform, and what can be done with it. I actually found this in my local library, read it but bought it anyway. I've loaned it out to several other guys I know that have varying levels of experience with the AR platform and all managed to gain some knowledge. This book is written in a fairly easy to understand style. I like this book for the fact that it is fairly new and up to date. It is worth the $6-7 I spent.

I haven't read it completely so I will just give it a 4 star rating at this time. I feel it is well written IMO and has the information I am looking for as a first-time owner of an AR 15. I am also purchasing one for my nephew which I guess says something about my liking the book so far.

It was an excellent basic book. It provided the insights, observations and facts that would be necessary to make a decision on whether to pursue a interest in the civilian version of this rifle.
