I missed this shape
It feels just as i remember it. I tried using a G703 for many months but i got so sick how it felt. I like the thumb and pinky grooves on the MX518, and how the side buttons are smaller and above my thumb rather than almost under where i want to grip the mouse. I also like the buttons being one piece with the rear of the mouse having no excess crevasses. Allows for easier cleaning and also just feels better with the convex buttons instead of that convex style that many have, probably because i use a hybrid/claw grip. The hardward itself has a more tactile click than a G703 which i am enjoying as well. The wheel design was not updated and i feel like that was the right choice. Some may dislike it compared to more modern wheels but i am cool with it. You can't really replicate the form of the mouse without keeping the buttons the same as well. It's nostalgic to me so perhaps that is slightly biased of course. It's intended for people like me. If you haven't used an MX518 before maybe you will not like it, or maybe you will. It's similar to the Roccat Kone-stlye mouse i had more recently. Extra buttons can be remapped to do other things easily. I like the big solid mouse feet on the top and bottom. The G703 had narrow curved feet and were eventually pulled up by the edge of my mouse pad. The cable is very basic and perhaps it would have been nice to get a more heavy-duty one. Just be careful that it doesn't get snagged on things. I will probably buy another one in the future, maybe they can do a minor update to it in that time like a better cable and clickier buttons.

Just got this in the mail today, and WOW!
I've been involved in the pc gaming community for a good amount of years now, mainly playing fps games like counterstrike, call of duty, overwatch, and so forth to apex now; so, I've used a good deal of mice over the years, to name some: Zowie fk-1, zowie ec1-A, logitech g703, logitech g203, Logitech g403, and the razer deathadder, and none of them feel as comfortable to hold (palm/claw hybrid) and as precise as the hero sensor in this revamped version of the mx518. I've always heard good things about the original mx518, but I could never justify spending upwards of $150 for new one or upwards of $50 for a used one that typically had some sort of functional or cosmetic damage. When Logitech announced the mx518 remake I immediately ordered one and I already love it. It feels very comfortable to grip, has a nice look to it (I like the smooth, sparkly design on top that has a sort of ombre effect going from a dark black at the base of the mouse to a lighter grey at the top of the mouse that reminds me of the original mx518's color), and like I mentioned before the hero 16k feels like one of the smoothest, most responsive sensors I've used in a while. First impressions, 10/10. I'll make an edit in the future after I've used it for different games. Thanks for bringing the legend back Logitech!Edit: 2/28/19Pros:- Great ergonomics for right hand mouse users- Design is simple, but looks great. This mouse does not have any RGB or lighting, which isn't a problem with me but could be to someone who wants a mouse with lighting for their flashy set up.- The cord is rubberized and is thinner than other Logitech mice I've used before like the g203 (rubber) and the g403 (braided), which is nice because it fits into my mouse bungee a little easier but isn't so thin that it slides around or comes out.- This mouse weighs 101 grams which isn't the lightest mouse on the market but still feels very manageable and slides across the surface of my mouse pad with ease.- Hero 16k sensor is one of the best optical sensors on the market right now, feels very responsive and I definitely feel a difference in performance over the g203 I was using before getting the mx518.Cons:- The only issue I've had so far with this mouse is the glossy surface. Although it's sufficiently grippy and aesthetically pleasing (to me, might not be your cup of tea), if you have sweaty hands residue does build up on the surface. Nothing a quick wipe wont fix though.

Beste Maus!

Nostalgic.....
Not as good as I remember, doesn’t glide well without the skates. Razer Deathadder is better
