PanOxylAcne Creamy Wash, 4% Benzoyl Peroxide (Pack of 2)

I like this product that my dermatologist recommended. It cleanses well and not drying.

This wash works very well, my acne has mostly cleared up! I can not use it on a daily basis though since it is very drying. I use it two to three times a week and I am very happy with the results. The only complaint I have is that it takes a lot of rinsing to completely remove. I could still feel it on my face when I applied moisturizer. I also noticed that it bleached my towels which I am not at all happy about. So beware, make sure you rinse extremely thorough, and then rinse again!

Dermatologist recommended this as part of an acne treatment regimen. However, my teenager who has very sensitive skin ended up with bright red blotches in the acne affected areas which looked extremely scary. Her entire face was itchy even in areas where the panoxyl was not applied and kept on for 1 to 2 minutes. I feel the 4% peroxide is too much for very sensitive skin. Perhaps a lower strength would be more tolerant for this skin type.

Note this is a review of the product itself, not the seller. Been using this for several years with good results (bleached towel and all) but the latest two pack I received is their "new formula" and I really do not like it. It's runny and doesn't lather for me (in spite of their "better lather" claim), pretty much seems like it just rinses off. Really not a fan any longer. Maybe it still works the same but it really doesn't feel that way to me. The inactive ingredient lists for the new formulations differ significantly from the current products.The new formulations create a better experience of a mild cleansing wash. The formulations were developed to be mild with a better lather and skin feel.The texture of the new formulations changed to better deliver against the desired properties of a mild cleansing wash. The formulations were developed to be mild, less paste-like products with a better lather and skin feel.The formulation has the same efficacy as the original products. Both new and original products are regulated by the US Monograph for Topical Acne Drug Products.

My son's dermatologist recommended this body wash for him and it works very well. Happy to find this on Amazon as it's a much better value than buying it at CVS, Walgreens, etc.
