Tacx Blue Twist Indoor Bicycle Trainer Stand

I upgraded to this device for a fora sunrise bike trainer that is available on Amazon for under $100.00. The difference is night and day. The tacx blue twist is of a much higher quality and the feel of the back wheel vs my previous trainer feels a lot more natural. I am using this with Zwift to get slightly more accurate readings. Zwift has the Blue twist as an approved device and I had no issue getting up and running. If on Zwift, it is recommended you ride on resistance level 3. I ride about 150 miles a week and resistance level 3 kicked my butt on the first ride so I am excited to improve! Set up was easy but I do have a concern that I will be contacting Tacx about. I am using the quick release axel that came with it but. I feel like my bike will pop off the trainor during high intensity efforts. I am withholding judgment on that until I can verify that it was user error or an issue with my device. All and all, I'm happy with my purchase. If you are on a budget, using Zwift and want to at least get some consistency in terms of the numbers your producing, this is a great choice. You will steed need a separate cadence/speed sensor for full compatibility. If you are looking for 100% accurate nu,bears and something that controls the resistance/gradient this is not the device for you, as the resistance lever is located behind the back wheel and must be changed manually.Pros:affordableStrong resistanceEasy setupQuick release lever includedNot as loud as my previous one. Great kit, easy to assemble, feels sturdy and safe plus compact to store. Different resistant setting great. Watched DVD,CAUTION - not sure if we (mum and son) did not read description clearly when researching trainers/mounts then bought this Tracx trainer but DO NEED a bike with a REAR WHEEL which has a HOLLOW REAR SPINDLE, to be able to insert the safety skewer, which goes through the rear wheel ! No hollow rear spindle - cannot use this trainer.We resolved that issue by having our bike rear wheel adjusted/altered to hollow style to enable us to insert safety skewer to firmly secure the wheel in place on bike mount.Now that issue resolved and rear wheel now has hollow spindle style - the kit is great and son has used significantly and as part of a rehabilitation programme for fitness then will use for general fitness, the trainer is able to be used, in house, in garage, on drive way or pack up and transport to sports hall or gym to use. Great trainer kit not dependant on weather to use so super and safe. Did buy a front wheel cup to keep front wheel static which is useful on a tile floor but not compulsory or necessary to use trainer just useful as young person using trainer. I bought the Tacx Blue Matic trainer for a proper cycle workout. The seven settings are pretty versatile and can give a steep climb if you want, plus you can use your gears.The frame is very sturdy and strong and easily supports the bike (Jamis Ventura Comp) even when out of the saddle. Quick release skewer is easy to fit and looks okay.Quite pleased with my purchase and this trainer gets close to the feel of real cycling but indoors of course. The pedalling action with the trainer is quite smooth, and there is hardly any slippage between roller and tyre.Noise levels and vibration are tolerable, but you would probably want to use this trainer in a separate room to as not to annoy others.The only issue I have is that my rear tyre has a worrying amount of wear after the first 45 minute workout, with black bits of rubber littering the floor under my bike. This is a smooth road 700c tyre and I wouldn't expect this kind of wear so soon. I've adjusted the trainer so hopefully with less contact pressure, this will subside.

Ich hatte lange überlegt, ob ich mir den Rollentrainer von Uhlsport oder Tacx hole. Es ist mein erster Rollentrainer und es ist ja immer so die Frage, ob man das dann auch so wirklich nutzt. Bei einem Händler ;-) habe ich dann ein Gerät von Tacx getestet u. fand es angenehm leise. Also habe ich mich zum Wohle meiner Nachbarn doch für das etwas teurere Gerät entschieden (auch wenn ich jetzt natürlich den Vergleich der Lautstärke nicht habe). Und ich bin doch sehr froh darüber. Der Aufbau ist echt sehr leicht. Der Trainer ist stabil u. das Einspannen des Rades relativ unproblematisch. Den Spezialreifen habe ich mir für mein Mountenbike auch geholt.Das Einzige, wo man ein wenig rumprobieren muß, ist beim Anliegen der Rolle. Zu dicht u. es kommt kein runder Tritt zustande. Zu lasch angelegt, dann tritt man auch mal durch. Doch auch dies hatte ich innerhalb von 5 Minuten u. 5 Mal Testtreten geschafft. Dann war es ein tolles Fahrgefühl. Fast wie draußen. Das Geräusch der Rolle ist vorhanden, aber leiser als erwartet. Ich möchte es als leises Surren bezeichnen. Es ist leise genug, um die Katze nicht zu stören. Den Fernseher mußte ich nur minimal lauter Drehen. Ich habe meine Entscheidung bisher noch nicht bereut.Ein Manko hat das Gerät allerdings. Die Einstellung der Rolle kann nur an dieser selbst erfolgen. Aber wenn man das nicht möchte, muß man dann doch mehr Geld ausgeben.Ich bin jedenfalls zufrieden
