It all started so well
We needed a light in the en-suite to be able to go to the toilet in the night without disturbing each other by putting the main light on (frosted glass on the en-suite door). It worked perfectly for the first year or so. It even sensed me as I reached the foot of the bed giving just enough light to navigate to the door without bumping into things. It lulled us into a false sense of security as we gradually became to rely on it totally. Then one night when I was out, my wife told me that the light had started switching on and off. On for the usual 30 seconds then off for 3 to 4 seconds and back on over and over again. This has continued and the creepy thing is, at first it worked randomly and switched to its On/Off routine when it wanted to. It now switches to the On/Off routine the first time it is activated after dark, rendering it worse than useless. Our dilemma? From the reviews I can see that this fault has been a problem for others, do we buy another and risk the same thing occurring, or do we look for a different solution? Answers on a postcard.

Marvellous
I bought these to cure an issue in our house with our cats, bless the little angels they like to lay across the stairs in the dark at night, now being the animal loving kind of guy I am I really don't want to step on one of my cats, it would possibly injure them and upset me so I decided to give these a go.Setup is easy enough, batteries in, stick back plate to surface, slide into place and off you go and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised with the light they throw out. My initial thoughs were hmm one led bouncing off a plastic face these are going to be naff but no they're excellent actually, it's placed near enough to the top of the stairs to activate before I start walking down the stairs and it lights up right to the bottom of the staircase.Marvellous, everyone is happy, the cats aren't likely to get squashed and I don't get to beat myself up - winner winner chicken dinner.Update mid April 2018....People ask about battery life, well we have 3 very active cats so ours probably get triggered 30-40 times a day, I came back to this review to see how long i've had them and the batteries have lasted about three and a half months, not bad considering the amount of activations they get.

Great stuff, we use two. Lasts for years.
Last one lasted four years by our front door and did a great job. Time to order another as its just stopped working. It was very sensitive to passing cars, so I put a large blob of bluetac next the the sensor and it worked perfectly well, still coming on when you walk up to our door. Plenty of light. As I type this my Mum is in our bathroom at night, no need to turn on the main light (and noisy fan) as we have another Mr Beams in there. Daughter stays asleep. Perfect for middle of the night visits too.Cancel that, the old dear just pulled the cord on the big boy light and likely will wake up our daughter. Maybe Mr Beams can make a granny attack alarm...

A good buy, recommended.
This item totally fulfils our requirements. Very easy to fit, simply use the double sided self adhesive strip on the back of the device and stick to the wall ( Ceramic Tile in my case ) just don’t place it too close under an overhanging window sill as you will have to slide the unit up vertically on its support runners to access the batteries for replacement purposes. I only mentioned this because I narrowly avoided this more by luck than judgement. The motion detector works brilliantly and the strength of the light is adequate to illuminate a small to medium bathroom. This device now saves the household from switching on the main lights which in turn activates the air extraction device above the shower. I haven’t had the device that long but my guess is that the batteries will last a long time.Highly recommended.

Brilliant
I was getting increasingly frustrated with children/teenagers using the bathroom light pull switch as it would make a huge click sound when they went to the bathroom to use the toilet, the bathroom is next to our bedroom and the light pull would constantly wake us up in the night. This battery operated light solved all problems.I've placed it 3ft above the toilet on tiles with double sided sticky tape which was provided and as soon as you enter the light comes on, once you leave the bathroom the light doesn't stay on too long once you have left so you don't waste batteries also whilst you are in there the sensor detects you so it stays on for you.Takes 4 double AA batteries, the whole light is very good quality even the battery compartment especially the screws also. The light itself is just right, not too bright and not too dull. One of the photo's was taken at night so you can see how bright it is.Just thought I would mention that once you leave the bathroom the light only stayed on for 25 seconds before turning off so your not wasting batteries.Great value for money.
