Yoshihiro Kitchen Shears worth the Cost!
04-June-2020Product: Yoshihiro All Stainless Steel Pull-Apart Japanese Kitchen Shears/Scissors 7.5 Inch (190mm) - Made in Japan. ( Model 779 stamped on Shears)Review:These are excellent Kitchen Shears! Previously, I had had a WUSTHOFF set of Kitchen Shears. They were solid stainless steel that I gave up as they hurt hand to use. These shears were molded metal which leaves the end product with a rough surface unless they are ground the a smooth surface. The scissor portion of the were ground to produce a reasonable cutting edge. The hand grips however, were left un ground leaving the rough surface and a mold line inside the hand grip which extruded into the hand grip area. This mold line is what caused the pain when trimming bone-in chicken breasts when trimming the rib sections off. Also I have large hands and the handle openings cramped my fingers (separate issue from the pain they caused). Also it was not possible to separate the shears for proper cleaning.WUSTHOFF products manufactured in Germany are excellent, however these shears were made in CHINA.NOW: The new YOSHIRO kitchen shears are completely smooth, no mold rim, no pain. They are literally polished. The hand grips fit my large hands with ease.I have used these shears to trim bone-in chicken breasts for barbecuing. They cut through the rib bones like a hot knife through butter. They disassemble with ease (see photos). They are made in JAPAN. They were packaged in a box fit for displaying 😎. Inside the scissors were placed in a form fired foam insert. Not that these last two items affect the utility of the scissors m, but it does demonstrate the pride the company has in its product. They were roughly twice the price of replacement WUSTHOFF shears, which were identical to the pair I discarded after about a year of wincing every time I used them, and still made in CHINA.My Dad used to say “Buy Cheap, Buy Twice”.I would Absolutely recommend these Yoshihiro Shears.

Super Mercedes Like Quality and Craftsmanship
Befitting the purchase price, these beauties are gorgeous, sturdy, quality craftsmanship, comfortable to hold, easy to clean and extra sharp. I had to file the opening I had in my wood knife set block so these shears could fit in the space where my old Wustoff shears went but they're now in a permanent home in my knife set. I absolutely love these. They come apart nicely to sharpen and wash but won't come apart while using them. These are expensive compared to most others but they seem like they'll last a lifetime and if you already have expensive knives, why not complement them with a top of the line quality pair of kitchen shears? Spend the extra money. They're worth it.

Makes quick work of any food
I once worked with tape that cost $600 a roll... I know, what does the have to do with sheers, give me a sec... This tape was astonishingly good at being tape. Have you ever worked with tape that stuck to itself? Ever worked with tape that couldn't stick to dirty surfaces? Ever worked with tape that wouldn't release from a surface?.. The list goes on, gripes about tape. This stuff, on the other hand, was phenomenal, it could last 20 years in desert sun, be unstuck and reapplied to last for another 20 years. I looked at the maintenance records, I know. The guy before me was 20 years previous, I reused his tape on the same surface he had applied it. That was 20 years ago, it still sticks and unsticks, it still seals, it still handles like it knows where it's supposed to go.It's like it is aware. But, when you try to explain it to folks, it really is just a list of things that describe tape. Like, try to describe a human, then sty to describe a god in human form. Most of it is human stuff, but then you say they are immortal and perfect... That's what this tape was. It was a god among tape. Most folks don't have a use for $600 a roll tape, but NASA does. That's how I feel about these sheers. Describing them I would list all the properties of sheers and you, kind reader, would say, "Well yes, that's what sheers do." But these sheers are like working with a partner you've been working with for decades. They know what you are doing before you. It's like they are aware.I've earned a living working with my hands my whole life and have only felt this way twice.Five out of five stars. I'd give them 6 if I could.

Worth every penny
Easy to clean, razor sharp, and built like a tank. Worlds above the typical kitchen scissors that everyone has, perfect for delicate herbs, leafy greens, even trimming fat. The handle could fit my hand a little better, but your mileage will likely vary

Amazing shears. I'm so happy to get Yoshihiro kitchen scissors
Amazing shears. The metal is thick and very durable and seems solid and well-constructed so far. It was packaged very well on receipt and the box that it comes in makes it so giftable for anyone who enjoys the kitchen. Now onto the actual use of the product, they came sharp and ready to use out of the box. The cutting action is very smooth and very pleasant to use. Its first task was to break down a chicken and absolutely breezed through the bones and tendons with no fuss at all! Cleaning them was a cinch as they separate easily and the single piece of steel for each half makes sure that that there's no hidden nooks or crannies for gross stuff to be embedded. Although I'm sure they are dishwasher friendly, I would never put them in as thats the fastest way to ruin anything with a nice finish or dull an edge. These shears are such a pleasure to work with and the quality is outstanding. I enjoy my kitchen now more than ever, and I highly recommend these to anyone looking for upgrade their kitchen tools to the next level.
