Miyabi Gyutoh Knife, Brown/Silver, 16 Cm, My-34373-161

OH baby this is one sweet knife. Sharp as heck and looks to match, I love the way everything it cuts is glass smooth. On a side note however, I have decided to treat the handle with a homemade combo linseed oil/mineral sprits/varnish to bring out the wood grain in the handle more. (found it on the net) Now its an 11.

I have owned steel knives from Henkel, Wusthof, Cutco (mistake!), shun Classic and ceramic knives from several Japanese brands. When this knife arrived, I set it aside until my birthday came up at the beginning of October. I was quite excited to try it once it was unwrapped on my b-day. Whether I was dicing vegetables, or thinly slicing tomatoes, onions, peppers, etc for the top of my home made pizza, I was able to more accurately control my knife work and more easily get he exact result that I wanted.This knife is far sharper than any previous knife that I have owned. I have always taken very good care of my knives, so I am used to keeping the blade true and sharp, but this is on another level. If I had it all to do again, I would buy two or three ceramic knives as good basic day to day knives and I would buy the Miyabi as my best knife. Other than a really good bread knife, I would have no need for anything else.Very highly recommended

Beautiful knife, very sharp, the handle fits my hand perfectly and makes cooking easy. The package is amazing and suitable for gifts. It is a dream knife.
