Super heated pad with a generous size. Well constructed pad with sections to keep the wiring in separate channels, thereby avoiding any chance of short circuiting. Also, unlike many pads on the market, this is NOT plastic covered, but a soft almost fleecy type material. It also has the safety feature of a 90 minute automatic timer meaning it cannot be left on permanently at any of te six temperature settings.The only downside, which is why I have dropped 1 star from the rating is that the washable cover supplied does not have a pull tab on the zipper, making it difficult for people with manual dexterity problems like myself. It can also detach from both sides if pulled back too far when taking the blanket out of the cover, so the way I have found around this ( after sending 1 back because of this problem ) is to sew a few stitches across the zipper about half an inch from the fully opened position and this seems to solve the problem.

I've had mine for about 18 months, and suddenly it stopped working. I contacted Beurer customer service, and received a reply within 2-days asking that I email them the invoice for my original purchase. The next day I got another email confirming they'd send me a replacement. I thought it might take 3-weeks to get a replacement, but the whole process took a week from original email to brand new heating pad delivered to my door.

This pad is very disappointing as most of the time it only gets lukewarm. I have a Sanitas heat pad which is brilliant, and hot, but they don't make a larger one, unfortunately.On occasion, for no apparent reason, the Beaurer gets to a high heat, too high in fact, so I change the setting from full (6) to 4, however, what happens then is that it randomly re-sets itself to 6, which is too hot, so I switch it to 4 again, and after a little while it goes up to 6 again of its own accord. Very annoying.Does not deserve even one star in my estimation.

I saw a smaller version of this else where but amazon was cheaper wth the xxl one I use it most days keep it to my back when sitting on my armchair cuts out after 90 mins you can then turn it on for another 90 mins then leave it a short time and use again if you need to set on 6 it gives a nice gentle heat I love it and would replace it with another the same if I had to fits across the back of the chair.

But as soon as the pad is switched off or the timer ends, and the pad gets cold, the discomfort returns to my back. I am not comfortable leaving it on for hours and hours. However, its a good buy. The fabric is soft and comfortable. The control is easy to use. Great to sit and relax with, I enjoy the luxury of sitting with this behind my back and feel the warmth doing the soothing. Fast service also.
