Absolutely beautiful looking watch!
There are more than enough reviews of this popular watch, so this "review" is also going to come with a bit of a personal story for those who might be in the same boat or are on the fence. The design of the case and crystal are absolutely beautiful, probably my favorite out of all the watches I've seen. It's so well designed and proportioned. I really liked how the curved reflective crystal drew attention to the watch, and that the parts of the watch were highly polished but it didn't appear to be sparkly or too shiny on the wrist. The one I ordered on Amazon arrived with a loose metal part inside and bent crown. The loose piece quickly got stuck under the spinning balance wheel and it stopped working so it had to be sent back. I ended up with a used one and had a little more time to think about the purchase. I go outdoors a lot to hike, climb, camp/backpack, kayak, etc. and go to the beach very often, but I also dress up a bit and wanted a watch that would fit for those occasions. It did look fancy and rugged at the same time, so nice in fact that I didn't want to mess it up. Yet I knew it would get banged up and scratched outdoors. I've also seen examples of moisture getting into this watch under mild conditions, and I know I'd expose it to water. I tried it on with button up shirts and it just seemed off somehow - maybe it was just too rugged looking in design to really blend in with dress shirts. So I realized that essentially I had a really nice looking and somewhat expensive watch that I couldn't use for many of it's intended purposes. Plus to top it all off, while the red in the dial isn't as noticeable/distracting as I thought it would be, it was enough to clash a little with brown straps. I ended up putting the money towards the very well liked Seiko SARB033 that just looks really classy yet works with so many different straps, looks, and occasions. And the rest went towards the truly rugged and usable Seiko SKX013 dive watch which also works for so many different occasions and activities.
