Die Lieferung erfolgte rasch. Es wirkt genauso wie Nelkenöl aus der Apotheke und schmeckt auch so. Nur das Fläschchen ist wesentlich kleiner. Während man darauf wartet, kann man auch Gewürznelken zerbeißen und im Mund an der schmerzenden Stelle platzieren. Das hilft ganz gut und wirkt auch desinfizierend. Die Gebrauchsanweisung ist natürlich auf Englisch und recht klein auf der Verpackung, daher schreib ich mal sinngemäß, wie man es anwenden soll. Zuerst den Mund mit warmem Wasser ausspülen, um eventuelle Essensreste zu entfernen. Dann mit der beiliegenden Pinzette ein Wattebäuschchen aus der Verpackung nehmen und ins Fläschchen mit dem Nelkenöl eintauchen. Mit den Fingern leicht ausdrücken und für eine Minute ins Zahnloch geben. Nicht schlucken und möglichst nicht die umliegenden Schleimhäute damit berühren. Man soll dieses Mittel auch nicht länger als 1 Woche anwenden, weil man ansonsten eine Allergie entwickeln könnte. Ich finde den Geschmack nicht so schlecht, aber ich mag auch Gewürznelken. Die wirken übrigens wirklich recht gut, ich konnte damit einen wackligen Zahn, der ziemlich schmerzte, rauskriegen - nach einer Woche ging er einfach von selber raus und bis dahin betäubte ich die Schmerzen mit Gewürznelken. Es war allerdings schon recht schmerzhaft, sie zu zerbeißen, da ist es mit diesem Mittel doch angenehmer.

Here’s the deal, this stuff works GREAT for relieving pain. It was a lifesaver. I also didn’t think the taste was THAT bad. It tastes strongly of cloves, which is an ingredient in mulled wine among other things so I don’t find it as unpleasant as others. It’s a strong taste but not horrific. It also definitely will sting your lips or tongue, but it doesn’t hurt that bad and the stinging will go away within a few minutes. It’s pretty hard to apply only to a tooth so it’s likely you will have some stinging and bad taste as the liquid touches other parts of your mouth, but it’s really no comparison to the pain of a toothache. BIG CAVEAT/WARNING: it did not hurt, and in fact felt great to apply it to my gums, so I generously put it on the gums above the hurting tooth. Now the tooth feels better (the filling calmed down) but I have a mouth sore above the tooth and pretty much all over the gum where I applied it. I can’t think of anything else that could have cause it besides this oil, and a quick internet search revealed coments about clove oil causing sores on the gums or cheeks when applied there. DO NOT SLATHER YOUR GUMS IN THIS. I think it is just too abrasive for that. I had to discontinue using it and go to benzocaine only for the sores. To be fair I think the directions only say apply to your tooth, which is why I won’t detract any stars for this. Just don’t be fooled into thinking that because it does not burn to apply to the gums that everything is peachy up there. I would still use this in the future but only to apply directly to a tooth.
