Effective and faster than a flat iron!
I couldn't find the purple brush in the stores and am so pleased I got this one from Amazon. It straightens my fine wavy hair in just one pass on low heat. The ion generator inside the brush helps with frizz and makes the hair shiny.I've seen people just brushing their hair with it online, but it's better to slowly pull it through the hair slowly and hold the hair taut while you do it. I would normally take 5 seconds per pass with a flat iron, so I do that with this brush also.While the straightening effect is not as pronounced as with a flat iron, I think this is not as harmful as clamping your hair between two hotplates every day, and my hair is straight without being limp and flattened.
