So personally, I don't like the taste of these...it reminds me of when I was a kid and my mom would crush aspirin in a teaspoon for me when I was sick...yes back before they had yummy tasting liquid tylenol. But my kids LOVE these and I think it's really helped with their digestive systems...one kid had very soft poops when he was a toddler and it helped to firm them up and another had poops that were too hard and were painful to pass and it helped to soften them up.I recommended these to my friend whose daughter developed lactose intolerance from antibiotic treatment, and it helped her too. I am a pretty skeptical person and these are just anecdotal experiences, however, I feel like this is a good product and definitely better than the alternatives that were offered by doctors at the time (such as putting my toddler on laxatives! - totally unnecessary after taking this).We don't take this every day, and the price seems to vary, so I buy this when it's around $12 or cheaper.UPDATE:So Renew Life has changed the formula. The package looks different also. Amazon and the sellers are selling the new formula under the old picture in some cases. The old Buddy Bear was loved by all my kids. The new one, ugh...I have a couple that are ok with it, and one that says it's gross. I bought this again from Amazon, thinking I was buying the last few of the old formula and got the new one instead. So, just beware that if your kids don't like the new formula, then don't buy this...because even though this has the picture of the bear, this isn't the same product anymore.

I am giving these four stars only because of the taste of the tablet and the price verses some with more live cultures. I purchased these without doing a lot of research on probiotics for children. I just knew I needed to be giving my children a probiotic daily on top of their multi vitamins because both of them seem to have bowel movement issues sometimes and one of them would get sick way to easily. These probiotics seem to do the job and keep them going regularly to the potty and the one child has not got sick since we have started them, but both of them have complained about the taste and have asked me to get them the kind I bought previously. So I will probably do some research and see if I can find a better tasting probiotic just because with children of you have issues getting them to take it, it doesn't really matter if it works.

Sadly, in the past I would have given this product a 5 star. We've been giving these to our children for almost 3 years now. I usually buy them at the store but when I can't find them, I would order 4 to 6 boxes here on Amazon. So that's exactly what I did this last week. I happened to stop and read the reviews for the first time ever and thought it weird that everyone was saying they changed the flavor and so on. I thought maybe they meant from years past. So I ordered 4 boxes anyhow. Got them in and noticed the boxes were different and the box said new and improved taste. That's where the trouble begins ...they changed it completely. Shape, size, taste...all different and so much worse. My kids have taken these for years without complaining. And now they gag each time I mention having to take it. I told them, please take it...it helps keep tummy bugs away and they said this makes them want to throw up. I'm really sad we have to find a new kids probiotic now. I've always loved these. I somehow have to force them all to eat the remaining 3 bottles worth but after that, we won't be buying these ever again!!!!

My son has FPIES so gut health is something we struggle with for him. These seem to help his digestion and have changed his mucky muddy like poops to more solid, formed movements like they should be. He did have wicked diarrhea the first couple days after starting, but it got better after that.

My kids take probiotics daily and we can't currently get their normal brand so I looked for something that would work similarly that is chewable. All three kids agreed that they taste horrible and they refuse to eat them. Husband agrees. My kids are pretty good about taking supplements without complaining. Any the rule of thumb around here is to try it twice. Not one kid changed their mind.
