Good Budget Package of Late 50's Early 60's Sides on Swan
While I'm not a great fan of the music in this set (I purchased it to find out more about the songs and the label) I think it is a set well worth the low cost for fans of the era and music. You won't get any liner notes on the music, but you will get 100 sides presented in a nice four-part fold-out CD case. Being raised in The Beatles era as opposed to this late 50's/early 60's era, I have no emotional ties to the music, however, I like good songwriting, singing and musicianship. I will listen to the entire package and see if there are any surprises for me.

A wonderful history of one of the true great early rock labels. Hits and misses are here. If you're into early rock you'll love this.

A great box set..the hits and the misses from a label that had many major hits..worth the price..can't miss.

For those who like music, but dont particularly want to read a great booklet supplied with the CD, which informs....
Apart from the usual handful of poor quality tracks on these cheaper compilations(ONE DAY MUSIC), this is a good, solid CD from the 'Real Gone' label. If you are a prolific collector of 'old record labels' then most of these tracks will be in your collection Freddie Cannon, Danny and the Juniors etc., however this type of collections always throws up some intriguing artists, Billy and Lillie (Swans answer to Micky and Sylvia) Ronnie Dawson, Diane Bailey, The Saturday Knights, Rochelle Johnson....and some horrible (no really, horrible). So if you don't visit record fares regularly and you quite like schmaltzy rock n roll, white pop with some novelty thrown in, from the late 50's and early 60's then this is worth a listen.
