Messy Bessey's Closet (Revised Edition) Paperback – March 1, 2002

The original Messy Bessy was my favorite book as a 90's kid, and I just bought this one for my 3year old. I wish they would have elaborated a little more on how she donated her items that she didn't need. This is something I do often, and it would help him understand. Good book overall, but the original can't be beat.

The Messy Bessey Collection is a great set of books that teaches girls about responsibility and manners. It is also a great books fr little African American girls.

I ordered this and Messy Bessy and my daughter has me read them over and over again! Fun way to discuss the importance of cleaning AND giving.

This book may encourage your child to keep her room neat and clean. Initially, Messy Bessey's closet is so full that all of her toys fall on top of her when she opens the door. That's a scary thought for a little person, but Bessey cleans her closet and finds that it doesn't take very long.The only problem is that she doesn't know what to do with all the toys she doesn't use anymore. She solves this problem by donating her unwanted toys to the neighborhood children. The other children are very happy and proud of her, and Bessey is able to return to a beautiful and tranquil room that reflects her (beautiful and tranquil) spirit.This book has colorful, comic-strip like pictures, and its simple story rhymes. I recommend that you cuddle up with this book and your little one (ages 2-8).
