Bruntmor Ceramic Dinner Plates Set of 4, 10 inch Dish Set - Microwave, Oven, and Dishwasher Safe, Scratch Resistant, Modern Square Dinnerware- Kitchen Porcelain Serving Dishes - White

My red Bruntmor dinner plates arrived on time, excellently packed by the manufacturer for shipment, so much better than my Le Tauci red bowls were two weeks ago. Even the box they were in was thick and sturdy. It's obvious this manufacturer cares about their product. No chips, no scratches, matte finish, just as described.They are 10 and 1/8 inches outer edge to outer edge, with virtually all of that being serving surface. There are no wide edges around these plates to allow food to fall off during dinner, as so many round "china" dinner plates have. These plates are h-e-a-v-y! They are solid, large, weighty plates that will have to go on a lower shelf for me - because I'm short! - but will serve my Mexican and other meals beautifully. I've not tried them in the oven yet, but really don't expect to use them that way. There was a disclaimer note about overheating them in the guarantee card enclosed in the box. They are lead-free, microwave, and dishwasher safe. I'm thrilled with this purchase.

These plates are large and very heavy. NOT what we thought, we were in the market for a lightweight plate that would be easy to store and light weight. If you are looking for a sturdy, heavy plate. These are four you.

Most square plates I've seen have long sloping edges so the flat area in the middle is smaller than it could be. This means I can't fit as many tacos on a plate without them being on an uneven surface and wanting to fall over.So I was thrilled to find these where the vast majority of the plate is flat and square for maximum taco coverage.Unfortunately the quality is not amazing. There are several imperfections in the surface of the plates, like little bits of debris that just got painted/glazed over, making the surface not entirely smooth. We also chipped the edge of one of the plates within the first month, so I have concerns about long-term durability as they take inevitable bumps against other dishes when being washed, dried, or put away.

The plates seem to be of good quality, especially for the money, but one of the four I received was already chipped when I opened the package. (See included photo.) The damage obviously occurred before the plates were packed at the factory, because there was no fragment of the plate to be found in the box. No problem, I'll just contact customer service and receive a replacement, I thought. No such luck. I explained my problem twice in a chat on the Bruntmor website and once in an email. That was about two weeks ago, still no response. I'll consider raising my rating on this product if I get some satisfaction.

I asked before buying these plates if they were oven safe, and you will see in the questions that others have as well. Well, they are not. After receiving them, I did ask again because the mark on the bottom only said Microwave and Dishwasher safe. Reheating a plate of Shepherds Pie in a 350 oven made the plate break in half. Maybe one bad plate, but it happened on the next plate that hadn't been used before as well. No more reheating in oven. Down to 2 platesThey do look nice though, and if they just said it isn't oven safe and I bought them anyway, it would get a better review.

Overall pleased with these plates although one plate had two imperfections. An embedded substance on plate surface and raised/rough area on bottom that will scratch any surface it’s on.

Great set, arrived as promised. This is a very heavy duty set and, while I am happy with it, one of the plates did chip one of my bowls from another set I have when I placed them in the cabinet. My other set is nowhere near as thick and heavy as this one (Soho set in grey), but I didn’t realize how much of a discrepancy there is between the 2 until the chip happened. Now I’m going to have to replace my other set once I get sick of seeing that chip! However, this is a quality set and I only needed the 4 white plates and most every offering was a full dish set, which I didn’t need. Stinks that this happened, but more my fault than anything, I suppose. I only caution others to be very careful if you have other dishes that could come into contact with these.
