My four boys (age 6 to 16) ALL love this item!!!
This is a home-run, out of the ballpark hit for a toy for Christmas (or Halloween, as was the case at our house). My son wanted to go as a Ninja and use this as a "staff". It was HUGE when the box came in the mail and it immediately was clamored for by all four of my boys aged 6 to 16 (granted, 3 are in martial arts). Even the first-degree black belt loves it. It is soft yet sturdy. It has held up great with constant use over the weekend and I expect it to continue to hold up well. Nice product, Nerf. Great price point - if it were more than $19.99 I wouldn't have probably bought it but it's a great product for that price. Great for imaginative play, great for sharing with a friend (in the two-sword mode) and great for pretending to be Ninjas and fighting off multiple attackers.

My kids love them
I know this sword was on the list of most dangerous toys for the Christmas holiday, but come on, it's a two-sword set that combines into a single double bladed weapon! My kids think the swords are incredibly cool and so do I. The dangerous toy list claims that kids can get hit in the eyes with these swords and that is why these swords are on the list. I can't disagree with that comment, but for goodness sake, they're toy swords! When I was a kid, I played with sticks. I can tell you that these swords seem much less dAngerous than sticks. . or baseball bats or hockey stick or plenty of other things kids play with. For toy swords they seem relatively safe to me. They are covered in foam, with a pastic core. That gives them some solidity for dueling, while padding kids from serious damage. My only concern with these words is that when they are connected, they make a very long toy weapon. As kids often do not look behind them while playing, I'd say do not let the kids play with it in the house if you value your possessions.

Still as good as I remember
I bought them for my son after having them when I was younger. Still as high of quality as ever.

Love these so much!
These are great! Highly recommend. Much lighter than the single nerf sword my son had years ago. The foam seems a little softer but still very well made. Our old one was extremely durable, and I have I hopes for these as well. After a few weeks of brief but intense use, there is only the slightest of wrinkles in a few places near the tips. Very happy so far. Wish they still made stuff like this.

My son's favorite NERF sword
I bought this to replace a different Nerf sword my son had used so much that the foam ripped away, exposing the inner core which he cut his leg with. Needless to say, that sword needed to go in the garbage. I then stumbled upon this sword. It is awesome! My son was way more excited to get this than he would have been with an exact replacement of his single sword. This sword is long when put together and he loves to swing it around kayak paddle style (definitely not an indoor sword when snapped together!) but the great thing is he can use this as two swords so he and a friend can each have one, or he can be doubly armed. Sweet! It snaps together easily and securely. I think I am going to get my money's worth out of this toy for sure. I just hope the foam doesn't rip away like on the last sword. Be warned, throw away the sword if the foam falls apart because your child might get hurt like mine did. It even states on the package if the inner core is exposed to dispose of the sword.

Indestructible
My 13 year old son who has down syndrome takes these everywhere with him. They never leave his side. They survive everything. He beats the heck out of them and they look new. Truly amazing.

Excellent toy
This is a great toy. My Grandson got his for his birthday two years ago and it still is put to use. We have safe sword fights and playing with these works off excess energy on cold or rainy days. Plus they teach coordination and imaginative play. Well made. Well designed. Durable. One is a bit bent after all this time. They are a little costly but worth the price, in my opinion, because of the durability. Plus the interest lasts over the years. Now the younger grandson is beginning to enjoy playing with them.
