This is a heavy (for its compact size) bookend dimensions speaker, about 40 years old, with the old style connectors for two wires. I have a pair of these speakers but I need only a mono setup, so using only one speaker. Catalog number 40-20308. Input: 8 ohms 40 watts (max)Radio Shack Mini-Amplifier & Speaker. Catalog number 277-1008C.Output (1 khz) 200 mW (18 ohm load). Powered by 9 volt battery. The speaker in this amp is too tiny, sounds kind of tinny. This is a mono only amp. Stereo mini plugs (3.5 mm) connect fine but I am using only one channel. Powered by 9 volt battery.G.G.Martinsen 16 GB Mini USB Port Slim Small Multi-lingual Selection 1.78 LCD Portable MP3/MP4, Mp3Player, MP4Player, Video Player, Music Player , Media Player, Audio player With Photo Viewer, E-book Reader, Voice Recorder, Games & Movie-Blue by G.G.Martinsenre the MP3 player: This device is no iPod but it works fine for my purposes. I have only used playback of mono voice-only MP3 files (which is not too demanding). I have not used it to play stereo music. I only play MP3 files, no other file format. I have not tested the several other functionalities of this device. The written directions which arrive with this device are totally useless; do not waste your time attempting to read them. Instead, locate a podcast (featuring this device) on YouTube and listen to instructions in English. Built-in battery powers the device for several hours between charges. Connect device to a 5 volt USB power source to return the battery to full-charge. Connects to my PC to add or delete MP3 files (when using Windows 7 OS explorer, appears as a flash drive on my PC). Has enormous capacity for lots of MP3 files. One note: I discovered that it is not a good idea to touch the MP3 player on-off switch. When I turn this device off, it switches to another podcast or to another track. So now, when I am putting the GG Martinsen aside for a few hours or a few days, I allow the device to go to sleep without my input.re cable adapter: This is just what you expect, delivery was fast, the quality is excellent, the wire leads are plenty long, and the setup is full-stereo (stereo 3.5 mm mini plug to black-red AND black-red wire leads (four wires). Intended to connect old fashioned speakers featuring wire connectors.Radio Shack sells a similar mono-only cable set, but R.S. build quality is just adequate. The David Levy set is better quality and the David Levy model is stereo.re cable adapter in my setup: I am using the David Levy adapter to connect my Radio Shack amp to one Radio Shack speaker (two wires connected, two wires floating free).I have no experience using the David Levy cable set in a stereo setup. My Radio Shack amp is mono only. I am using only one channel. I am using only one speaker. An old separate cable that I pulled out of my toolbox: I also use a stereo 3.5 mm male mini-plug to stereo 3.5 mm male mini-plug cable to connect the GG Martinsen to the Radio Shack amp.Thank youSteve

Happy with them.
These are super convenient, sure beats soldering your own together, it is one 3.5mm stereo plug to a total of 4 output leads (2 red and 2 black) so you can input directly from say a headphone jack to an amplifier input, which is what I did with them.I haven't had any crackle or static, the connections seem reliable and the leads are very long.If you have a need for these I recommend this vendor as the product arrived fast and seems reliable.

Works as expected and is a good concept. Unfortunately it didn't do what I was hoping it would do. My plan was to use speakers I had sitting around and use them attached directly to my laptop, but since the speakers were not hooked to an amplifier/receiver source, the volume is super quiet. Nothing against this product at all, it does what it should do, but it appears as though they can't be hooked directly into the laptop and produce the desired sound.

Too much hassle to ship back so I made my own with a spare stereo jack like pictured. Buy at your own risk
This clown sent me a 2 parallel two wire cable all right but with two mono male jacks on the ends. Too much hassle to ship back so I made my own with a spare stereo jack like pictured. Buy at your own risk. You might end up getting kite string.
