Stainless Steel Bed Pans

I bought this for my wife who uses a bedpan 3 times a day. I was growing tired of the cheap plastic bedpans cracking as I rolled her onto them. She has ALS and bedridden and can't raise herself to sit on top of a bedpan so I must roll her onto it. In four weeks I bought three plastic bedpans from local stores including a medical supply. All of them broke in the same location. I also bought a "comfort" bedpan -- wider rear, narrower front, flat tailbone area -- and it was less comfortable than the standard design.My option to go for a stainless steel version seemed sensible.PROS:- Very durable. I doubt this thing will ever crack anywhere. It survived a 2ft drop onto the wood floor without any visible marks or dents.- Easy to clean. I empty it and spray some cleaner on it and rinse it to get back to the mirror finish.- Comfortable enough. The area of the bedpan behind the opening doesn't have an indentation for her tailbone like the plastic ones do, but it's still better than the "comfort" bedpan we bought.CONS:- Too high/tall. This pan puts my wife's tush higher in the air than the plastic or comfort versions which ends up curving her back quite a bit and causing pain. We alleviate this by putting a pillow under her upper back to straighten out her spine when she's using it.- Weld quality. This is a two-piece design with a weld holding them together. Although not a tremendous issue for me yet, there is a small hole in the weld you could stick the point of a pencil through. I'm careful not to tip the bedpan although even if I did, only a drop or two would come out. It wasn't that obvious from the outside, but when I held the pan up toward the light to check cleanliness, the small hole was evident.

Extremely well made, would have given this 5 stars if the 5 star rating was described as "excellent" but not "I love it". Does not seem a proper adjective for any bedpan (LOL). I have purchased a least 6 or 8 bedpans of various designs and materials in the last 6 months. All of them have their shortcomings, plastic ones in particular. For my money this is a tried and true design that is as close to perfect as possible for it's use case. Maybe some day they will be self warming and self cleaning.

This product was brought for my dad. He was a stage four cancer patient and I cared for him in my house. We purchased this pan for when he deteriorated to the point where he couldn’t use the toilet on his own. The product is solid and sturdy. It did not disappoint. Because I’m not a nurse it was awkward for us to use and we only used it once. This is a good product.

My wife is confined to bed, and the other bedpans wasn't working. This works with ease and is easy to clean up. Don't know who likes it more her or me.

Like it. Excellent quality. Much more heavier than I expected, especially compared to its plastic counterpart. Gotta use both hands to carry.

This is ok. Very similar to most others on the market. Not at all like the old style that were more curved and form fitting (rather like an actual toilet seat). Still better than the plastic ones (IMO).

I like the depth of this which prevents spills and this is more durable.
