The Heart of a Woman

My wife is a big fan of Maya Angelou so I got the series for her. She told that me just as with the first three books in the series, she found Maya's life story fascinating, thoroughly enjoyed this book, and could barely put it down.

Maya makes you feel as though you have been penned right into her story. Truly a literary goddess.

This first person’s telling of a Black woman’s extraordinary life left me at the end of the book still wanting to read more. There seemed to be nothing so special in the telling, but there was, because I couldn’t put the book down until the end, reading it in one sitting. The story teller, for me, was, very naturally, that good.

The book arrived in very good condition. A very easy read. Truly a page turner and well written.

I have really been enjoying this series of Maya Angelou’s books, and looking forward to the next one. She has had such an interesting and adventurous life, I highly recommend the books.

Completed my set of autobiography books

Maya Angelou is a queen who knew what she wanted but at the same time she is also vulnerable at making decisions. This book clearly shows her attitude towards men, politics and what she wanted her role to be and how her voice is to be heard. In this she clearly writes about the changes in the relationship she had with her teen son. Wonderful read.
