Lalla Ward - Time Capsule

Nice addition to a Doctor Who collection.
A beautiful and nicely produced souvenir of Romana II from Doctor Who. Some good photos and drawings, that I have not seen elsewhere, so a nice item for a fan of Lalla Ward or Doctor Who in general.A few other reviewers seemed a little disappointed with the small number of memories and limited text, but I think it is similar to a number of collectors items, in that it may not please everyone. The print quality of the book is high and the photographs and drawings are reproduced well, despite it being a fairly thin paperback. As a fan of Doctor Who, with good memories of the 4th Doctor's era, this was a nice addition to the Doctor Who collection.

A MUST for all Romana II fans!
Time capsule is gorgeous. It's not a full book, rather a collection of photographs and artwork celebrating Romana II. Lalla gives quotes on her episodes interspersed with photos of the stories and reproductions of June Hudson's amazing costume designs. The book is beautifully laid out and has some of the nicest photos of Romana that I've seen. It's a lovely tribute to one of my favourite companions. Definitely a must for all fans of that era especially as all profits go to support Lalla's favourite charity, Denville Hall.

Considering there is so little text it's even more amazing that Lalla didn't even write it all herself and ...
This book is massively overpriced. (Over £10 at time of writing). It's about 46 pages and there isn't much text either: about as much as you'd expect as captions for pictures. Also it says on the back of the book "contains remembrances from Lalla herself on each of her stories". Here are two of them: "I can't remember much about Full Circle. Lovely Alan Rowe, and George Baker" and 2nd one: "I honestly can't remember a thing about Nightmare of Eden except that we all thought it was well named".Considering there is so little text it's even more amazing that Lalla didn't even write it all herself and Paul Ballard is co-credited.I'm really quite cross about there being no page count displayed for the book on Amazon or the publisher's web site. It seems like a deliberate attempt to disguise the nature of the book, which I assumed would be so much bigger. The publisher's web site says the book contains "a vast wealth of visual material". I'm really not sure how you can get away with that description: 26 of the 46 pages are pictures, usually 1 to a page.
