Cheap + Cruelty free + mostly non harmful ingredients for acne + not orange!!
This foundation is great for the price!! And the shade range is great. I am cool toned and very pale, and I got the shade swan. The first foundation I have tried that is pale enough and not too yellow/orange :)It applies fairly matte, definitely best to blend with a damp beauty blender rather than anything else. I used it with the elf prep + hydrate stick and I think if you’ve got normal/dry skin you’ll definitely need a moisturising primer like that.It covers well, I think it’s best to do a thin layer and then reapply in more pigmented areas such as breakouts/acne scars if you’re wanting an even base. This is definitely the most full coverage foundation I’ve used but it doesn’t look cakey at all. I also mixed in a drop of face oil into it after putting some on the back of my hand, this gives it a slightly glowing and more natural look which I personally prefer. It still lasted well all day using this method. (I have combination skin)TLDR:Swan is great if you’re pale, not wanting to spend a lot of money and wanting a flexible level of coverage whilst not being cakey.1st photo: drop of squalene oil mixed with two pumps of foundation2nd photo: just foundation with powder applied after

Great foundation but….
… the only drawback to this foundation as far as I’m concerned is the smell – it’s not unpleasant exactly, but just a bit too strong for something that I put on my face. Apart from that, it really is a great product: really good coverage, easy to apply (I use a brush), and lovely colour on me. I really like Elf products and this is no exception

I bought the wrong shade.
Lovely product and I like that it’s cruelty free the brand but I will need to go into the store to check my shade. It’s a pity they don’t do sample pots to test shades. I will be buying again though once I’ve figured out what shade I am.

Honest review
Honest review:Pros: Great foundation for “every day”. It’s very silky and feels nice on the skin. It’s not heavy or cake-y. A buildable foundation. Applies well and isn’t patchy (like so many others are!)Cons: Shade was off (likely due to me buying online). A bit chalky. The swatch pic on the advertisement makes the consistency look thicker than it actually is (its more runny in real life than the buttery look in the ad). Doesn’t last long at all. It’s like a tinted moisturiser. Just melts into the skin and disappears 🥶Personal view: I wanted something more affordable, light and pliable (with more coverage) than my huda beauty foundation. But this was just really runny, pale and didn’t last long. Can imagine there are better quality foundations at this price range. Don’t buy this if you’re looking for a night out makeup. Great foundation for every day when you can’t be bothered getting all done up. Would recommend trying your shade in store before purchasing to avoid disappointment. Also last tip - I found it goes on better / lasts longer with the ELF PUTTY primer😄🌸Pictured is the huda beauty foundation (left) and the ELF foundation (right)

Fairly disappointed.
Very thin and watery. Needs to be built up and set with powder. Arrived with a damaged pump so I had to unscrew the lid and dab it on my blender sponge to apply. I normally use shade 125 in the e.l.f CC cream (KVD Good apple, shade 10 also) and was advised to buy shade Snow for this foundation but when applied realised this shade is far too light for me, it does dry slightly darker though. It does not last long without being set with powder (tested with and without). It does not slowly turn orange during wear but, unfortunately I've bought better foundations lately for about £4. Shake really well and expect light coverage.

Elf never misses.
I decided to try this foundation again recently after running out of it a few years ago. I clearly just forgot how good it was. The foundation looks beautiful on the skin and you can keep layering and building the coverage up without it looking cakey or bringing out the texture of your skin. If anything it looks smoother the more you put on. I really like the shade range this foundation has as it seems to cater to a lot of different undertones. The shade “Pearl” is perfect for me. The perfect shade for people on the paler side. After setting with a finishing powder, my acne prone skin looked almost airbrushed and it lasted great throughout the day even without a primer. I personally like the smell, I’m not sure how to describe it but it’s not overpowering and it did not irritate my skin. The foundation didn’t seem to cause any acne. Overall, I’m a big fan of this foundation :)

Great value
I've been using ELF Foundation for quite some time now, and I must say, I'm impressed! Not only does it provide great coverage, but it also feels lightweight on my skin, allowing it to breathe throughout the day. The range of shades is fantastic, ensuring there's a perfect match for every skin tone. Plus, the price point is unbeatable for the quality you're getting. I love how it gives me a flawless complexion without breaking the bank. ELF Foundation has definitely become a staple in my makeup routine, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable yet high-performing foundation.

Great lightweight formula exactly matches my skin tone
I'm really glad I ran across this Elf Flawless Satin Foundation. The depiction is great, and I found the perfect match to my skin tone on the first attempt. Just purchased my second bottle. It's very lightweight and goes on really smoothly over lotion, primer, & concealer using a wedge makeup sponge. It soaks in quickly and doesn't smudge nor smear. I follow with Wet 'n Wild Photofocus Translucent Setting Powder and a setting spray. None of that disturbs the Elf foundation. It stays on, doesn't smudge, feels very lightweight, lasts all day. Easily removed with baby wipe, followed by Clinique 'Take the Day Off Makeup Remover' then Clinique 'Clarifying Lotion 2 Twice a Day Exfoliator' then Clinique 'Moisture Surge Overnight Mask' lotion. When looking for a different foundation, I spent a LOT of time Googling "best of" (not Sponsored, lol) lightweight, waterproof, etc. I had been using Cover Girl Outlast Extreme Wear, but the last bottle was a different consistency and shade even though I'd reordered the same product, so I was on the prowl for a well-like product that had the qualities I wanted. I'm in my 2nd bottle and don't plan on changing to a different brand in the foreseeable future unless the formulation changes. Easy to color-match to your skin tone, applies quickly, smoothly, evenly, with very little product to obtain full coverage. Lasts all day. Good value for the money...doesn't break the bank.
