Others commented this product was messy, oily, and 'yucky'. No doubt that is because they followed the directions on bottle which state: "Either massage into scalp, leave on overnight & rinse in the morning, or apply where needed as a leave-on topical rescue oil for patches of psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis or acne." My husband has slightly oily hair/scalp, and has suffered from dry, itchy, flaky scalp for years. Due to age, maintenance medications and our dry climate it has become worse to the point of being scaly at times. I also believe the use of several lines of Head&Shoulders, SelsunBlue, and even pricier Nizoral 'dandruff' shampoos made his problem worse; they contain ingredients (e.g., salicylic acid for one) which are harsh & drying to scalp. My husband will under no circumstances leave oil on his head overnight, or while he goes about his day in public. So I came up with my own 'treatment method' for using this product, which is rich in natural oils that have healing, antiseptic, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory properties. Below is our 'treatment method' which has yielded AMAZING results and cured all my husband's scalp problems. In the morning, before his shower, I massaged the oil evenly into his scalp using soft pressure and clean hands and only used the soft pads of my fingertips (not fingernails). After 15-20 mins, i then added a few extra drops of oil to the scaliest areas and massaged these areas for an additional 5 mins or so. This gently loosens any scale or flakes, without scratching the scalp. The oil instantly relieved the itch. The massage brings blood & oxygen to the scalp, stimulating healing from within. My husband then leaves the oil on for an hour or more, allowing oil to treat and moisturize the scalp, before shampooing. Note that proper shampoo is key to treating the problem of dry, itchy, flaky scalp.Instead of using Head & Shoulders, Selsun Blue, Nizoral, etc. all of which have harsh ingredients (like Salicylic acid) that further irritate and dry the scalp, I convinced him to try Dove Dermacare Scalp Anti-Dandruff Shampoo (with zinc) for Dryness & Itch Relief shampoo. It cleans thoroughly but gently, doesn't irritate scalp, and did not strip scalp or hair, but rather seemed to restore natural pH balance. Hair & scalp felt and looked good after, and was not the least bit oily or greasy, nor dry and itchy.After only two treatments (as described above) performed 3 days apart, my husband said his scalp feels so good. He no longer feels dry or itchy, he has absolutley no flakes or scaly areas, and his scalp & hair look and feel healthy & amazing. The results are better than expected. I believe repeating this treatment every 3-4 weeks or as needed, it will be sufficient to maintain these good results. Hope this review helps others.

This product is all and more of how it is advertised. I highly recomend it for the specific use it is for. I am using it on the second order. GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!!!

I applied a moderate amount to my scalp, no need to saturate it. I immediately felt my inflamed scalp calm down and left it on overnight. The scabs came off very easily the next morning and shampoo and conditioner completed the treatment. Now I will have to see how often I need to do this. It really works!

I’ve had psoriasis since a child. This did absolutely nothing but create more build up on the scalp. It’s “dryer” than it would be not using this oil. There’s a hair growth serum for sale on here I forgot the brand but it literally does what this is suppose to do. So maybe look into those products. These oils never do anything if you have true scalp issues. It’s an internal imbalance plus diet issue. No product like this truly fixes anything. I thought this would at least keep my scalp from flaking and although it keeps it less noticeable throughout the day.. again, once I wake up my scalp is literally more flakey than if I didn’t use this. I had a feeling it was not going to work but wanted to give it a shot. For anybody with real skin/scalp issues. Believe it or not eating more beef and adding that type of diet into your system really helps. I went almost two years with almost no scalp itching or flaking just from adding more steak and ground beef into my daily meals… food for thought.
