Q: are these cups waxed?

For the most part, no. The best thing going for them is the cute designs. But they all stick together, even though I separated all the colors and stacked them again in alternating order. The insides and the outsides have the same texture, and therefore don’t slip apart . You always need two hands to pick up a cup, and it’s a royal pain in the butt

Q: Why is anyone even buying these cups when verified purchasers say they stick together?

I thought they would be a good bargain for the price. The cops are not very sick and they do not last long once you put water in them. It might be good for a child daycare for a school but for a home use when I use them in my cup dispenser they are not very sturdy. I am disappointed with how then they are and will not buy them again

The size of the opening is adequate for my needs. It is the size of a small juice glass.

Q: what is the diameter at top of cup?

I can't say, but it does fit into a standard 5oz cup dispenser.
